Can't get remote back on pc

I just did a fresh install of windows on my pc and i can't get the remote working anymore. I click on it and the box just goes all grey and freezes. Not sure if this is anything to do with 1.6OS Is there a link to get the remote control online, although i guess it will be the same as the one on my insallation cd. nothing has changed, still using crossover cable, all parameters correct in receptor too. anyhelp on this?!

Maybe you had an entry in your Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file (on your pc) that referenced the IP address and name of your Receptor? That hosts file might have been nuked during the re-install.

My shortcut to the remote has a target of:

"C:\Program Files\Receptor Remote Control.exe" MyReceptor:1

Where "MyReceptor" is the name of my Receptor, and my hosts file translates that name into the IP address defined on my Receptor.

Another way to do this (without using the hosts file), is to put the IP directly into the target (using 192.168.000.100 as an example):

"C:\Program Files\Receptor Remote Control.exe" 192.168.000.100:1

(The ":1" will always be the same, since it's a parameter to the remote program.)

It's saying it's not a valid path using both methods, hmm. It won't even let me type anything into the receptor name box, that's just grey and won't respond.

Torin sorted it for me at Muse, I did'nt have the 1.1 Uniwire installed on XP. The original remote is redundant with the 1.6OS and Uniwire 1.1 has the remote built in.
