Does anyone else think that it would be a great service to the community if we created a "templates post" where generous power users might share their controller templates? The more we collect, the more effective the resource would become. For instance, imagine if so many users sent in their templates that one could choose their controller and then pick up multiple templates that matched what they are trying to control. This might look like:
Novation Remote controller:
*NI B4 template
*NI Pro 53 template
*Gforce Minimonsta
*Zebra 2
or similarly for other controller manufacturers such as CME or M-Audio.
The more users submit templates, the more soft synths would become available for each controller.
Rather than each user of the Receptor having to create their own templates from scratch, we could download a complete template and then customize it to our specific needs. We would then post our own version and people could compare mappings to see what they like.
If the community does not have to keep reinventing the wheel, resources would be freed for individuals to tackle more difficult or esoteric challenges and as a result, the availability of better templates for everyone would grow.
Does anyone else agree?
Best regards,
Will

Not a bad idea, but given the many, many ways one can configure a Receptor - just the combination of major plugs (Ivory and RMX, or Ivory and Colossus and B4ii and Lounge Lizard, or Chris Hein Horns and JABB and GPO, and... the list is endless.) Then - it's set up for the Axiom 61. Or the CME UF7, or...
There will be some usefulness, and it's probably worth doing, but I think it will serve us less well than the initial concept implies.
Still, it can't hurt...
