Uniwire 1.1 installed and I think I've changed everything to the right settings in Receptor, but when I try to install a Uniwire instrument on Sonar 6, the Uniwire screen comes up and says "No Receptor recognized on this computer". I've disabled a lot of services for audio tweaks, so wondering if that's the problem. Thanks for the help.

I had disabled a bunch of Network stuff as audio tweaks, and when I enabled all of it, including "Telephony", I did get Sonar to recognize it without using manual IP address. But as it turns out, there's a little more to it than that. You can install Uniwire, record a MIDI track and hear it, but you can't freeze or record audio. Rick tells me that Uniwire won't completely work as a plugin with dual core PCs, but that they're working on it. Beta version is almost out, and guess we'll soon see how close that is.

Freeze is not something they will ever implement, or so I've been led to believe (this is also known as "off-line processing" in VST-speak). So, if your computer doesn't support real-time VST "freeze", and Sonar doesn't, you can just revert to using the SPDIF outs and MIDI when you are ready to freeze. Better yet, it you have a soundcard with an ADAT in, you can record 5 stereo audio tracks in one go!Eddy Yates wrote:I had disabled a bunch of Network stuff as audio tweaks, and when I enabled all of it, including "Telephony", I did get Sonar to recognize it without using manual IP address.
