Hi -- Quick post to let you know that I quickly tested Sylenth in Sonar 7 and it seems to be working better for me than it was in Sonar 6. I'll test some more to make sure, but the initial test is good news....

Sonar is fine and natively handles VST very well -- just as good as most other hosts -- but there are some hosts that have issues with Sylenth since it uses a third-party programming library that has issues... (search for previous posts regarding this) -- some people, including me, get gapping/glitching with Sylenth in Sonar, FL, Reaper, and others. Anyway, it's a known issue. For FL, Lennard recommends you use xlutop chainer to help, but that doesn't help me with Sonar. Sylenth still has some strangeness with Sonar... so at this point I'm still testing to figure some workarounds. Note that Lennard is working on a new version of Sylenth that will do away with the offending third-party library. He has said sometime in Q1 2008 it will be released. But don't let that hold you back from getting either Sylenth or Sonar, both are excellent!

Sonar has never played well with Synthedit, and since that's the skin for Sylenth...it's kind of a shame that the best synth can't be used in one of the top sequencers. For a test, try using other synthedit synths or effects in Sonar and see what happens.

i must agree that i get some strange behavior with sylenth1 in sonar from time to time. if i open a project in sonar 7 that i started in sonar 6.2.1 and that has a sylenth1 running, and subsequently try to open another sylenth1, it crashes sonar. i can open any other vst but opening a sylenth will crash it.
but i never have playback problems of anykind.
i love sonar and sylenth1 and look forward to the new version of sylenth already.
