For some reason, tonight I kicked in EVE2 in eXT and had a play. It's been a while, and loaded up the soundset I worked with Luigi and Back in Time on. It was called Evalon, and had some great samples of vintage instruments which I was able to manipulate into some wonderful sounds in Eve. Crisp FM and digital synth sounds, phat analog strings and brass and nice atmo's and leads as well.

Even though it was several years ago(that long?) I was amazed at the sounds, and really glad I was rediscovering this soundset. I also did one for Luigi called The MiniMoog which uses real MiniMoog samples. It was actually my first time in working with samples, as previously I only did synthesis, so I was fairly green at it :-) But they still came off rather good, and now with the minimoog sound back in action, I am surprised that it has not caught on more. This was a wonderful sound set as well, and really glad I am rediscovering Eve all over again. How about you ?

I have EVE 2 and I have yet to give it a good going over..It sounds great though of course..

I got out the 'old' CM Eve last week, and found the reg code, and really was surprised I hadn't been using it. Very nice sounds! Now I have to get my CM Morphite out of the shed too :)

Evalon is my favorite soundset. And although I initially liked Eve 2 I've gone back to 1.8. Something about Eve 2 just falls flat for me.

Thanks for the great words, Tim. I wasn't a part of Dash Signature back when you worked on the Minimoog set, so I feel I can say in a fairly unbiased way, that it was, and still is, my favorite multi-sampled synth pack. Those sounds are just so damn solid and your presets are great. Did you know that I updated them recently so that the Wusik presets can be used with the DASHsnds, not requiring conversion into WusikSND?? The updated presets are in the download area.

After reading this post (and since I've been rebuilding a new laptop from scratch anyway) I decided to revisit Eve. I had all my old download links, which I visited. I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see a new version of Eve 2 (since I last used it) and that ALL of the soundsets had been updated (with Eve2 and TDP presets). So, I downloaded them all and installed them all.

I own every Eve soundset there is ;-)

Evalon is AWESOME. theMiniMoog is fabulous. the "TC bank" in the Mellotronix set was BRAND NEW to me and was also very nice.

I bought all of this way back in early 2005 and since then have aquired lots and lots of software, Arturia and GMedia's VA's, NI Komplete, all the IK Multimedia stuff, Atmosphere, and on and on...you name it, I probably have it. I'm spoiled for too much choice and I suffer for it :-D

But hearing Eve and the soundsets again was VERY inspirational and reminded me of why I started down this software path almost 3 years ago now. TC, you are a MASTER programmer, as I have said before.

And another VERY nice thing about Eve is that it is extremely low on CPU usage, making it's highly usable sounds just that much MORE usable.

Thanks for reminding me about Eve Tim. Now I'm gonna go play, tweak and track for a few hours using nothing but Eve2!
