I've recently sent a first draft to beta testers and S&R magazine. It looks good, but there's some more work to do. With some luck it's gonna be in the issue that comes out early November.

Any news on this topic? I knew there were some issues with the Intel-Podolski. But maybe they've been ironed out in the meantime. :)

Zebralette = mini Zebra2
Podolski = mini FilterscapeVA

:-o

Hmmm Zebra CM seems much nicer?

Sure... ZCM is a different story...

I love FilterScape VA! Is there any why to get this Podolski if I am a registered user of the FilterScape bundle? Or, is it dumb to ask? Will it work on a Mac? Where can I see this thing. It might be cool to have if I don't want to run FSVA.

It's a magware version of FilterscapeVA... I'm contemplating to add it to the Filterscape bundle. Or make it a freebee. Or just a freebee for customers. Or maybe a freebee for subscribers of a newsletter (I have to feed an employee now... makes me think of a bit more elaborate marketing than just word & mouth in forums). Hmmm.

Anyhow it looks like the port to UB is working, so I gotta get it to the magazine and grant them a little exclusive time.

I highly recommend ordering a copy of Sound and Recording magazine to get both the standalone Zebralette and Podolski, especially if you don't know German!

I thought I was requesting information about how to order a copy, but instead, many weeks later, I received a copy in the mail with an attached invoice. I puzzled out the invoice and realized that I would have to quickly figure out how to send an international wire transfer, or face the wrath of Interpol. After filling out my bank's form, it still took 15 minutes working with the branch manager to get the wire sent off. So, you get a couple of great synths (plus whatever else is on the CD-ROM that month -- mine included one of Urs's drum machines) and also an adventure in international finance!

I don't think ZCM has ever not been UB...?

Or am I wrong... afaik ZCM was after buying the first MBP...?

I pulled both the AU and VST off of the CM111 DVD. This was the first release of ZCM.

The AU is explicitly listed as Universal (the VST is not, is that normal?). There's also a little "Easter Egg" with the Version on the AU. ;)

EDIT:

I used a little command line voodoo to examine the VST binary:

Code: Select all

~/Desktop/ZebraCM_VSTMac/ZebraCM.vst/Contents/MacOS $ lipo -info ZebraCM
Architectures in the fat file: ZebraCM are: ppc i386
Looks like a UB VST as well.
