corrupt/duplicate patch banks

So I had a lot of trouble getting Kontakt 2 running at first, and after several uninstalls and re-installs it seems the patch banks got corrupted. Instead of being removed when I uninstalled K2, they remained and were duplicated upon reinstall. I have tried everything to remove them, including logging on as root via ssh and manually clearing out the /Banks and Patches/Native Instruments/Kontakt 2 directory. Even with all the .bank and .fxp files gone, the banks still appear in the "Save/File" patch manager, with all the patch slots <empty>. They cannot be renamed or deleted via the manager.

I figure there must be a cache or database somewhere that needs to be flushed/rebuilt. Has anyone experienced this?
