A few general questions about receptor

WAIT! DON'T SHOOT!! I've been on the site for over half an hour and still haven't found a similar thread, so:

I recently heard about Receptor and was blown away by the concept. I've read and watched pretty much everything that can be found about it on the web, and I'm now left with a few questions I couldn't find answers to.

I have worked with soft synths in the past, but never outside of the studio. On stage, I have only ever used ROMplers and sample-based analog modelling, with my main two synths throughout the last few years being a Yamaha CS2X and a Kurzweil K2500.

While reading about the Receptor, I often found myself getting lost in the jargon, and while this is in no way a turn-off for me (God knows it took me a while to get around the Kurzweil), it is a hold-back. I'd appreciate it if someone could please go into more detail on how the Receptor is set up into Singles, Multis, Snapshots etc. If possible, please do so in comparison to how the Kurzweil K2xxx series are set up ('Programmes', 'Setups', and useful features such as the "Quick-Access" page)

Another thing I couldn't quite unterstand is which plugins come free with the unit, and which I have to pay for in addition. What I understood is that when I buy the Receptor unit, I automatically get a bunch of freeware plugins, plus 400$ worth of commercial plugins that I can "unlock", and other commercial plugins which I am given a 30 day trial period of and then have to buy. So basically, for the latter I would have to pay for seperately, in addition to the 2000$ (street avg.) I'd be paying for a standard unit, right? Does it then make more sense to just buy the unit that's got Komplete inside? Are these "receptorized" versions of commercial plugins sold on plugorama.com for a special cheaper price, or do I end up paying the standard price I would have paid for the software had I bought it elsewhere?

I noticed on muse-research's website that there are several "user specific" versions of a standard receptor available, and was especially intersted in the one called "keyboard players". Do the plugins listed with that unit come built in with it, free of extra charge, or do I have to go through the authorizing and buying stage in any case? does someone have a clue as to the average street price of this specific unit?

And does anyone happen by any chance to know if Muse Research has an authorized dealer or distributor in Israel?

My one last and minor question is whether the Receptor supports MIDI-Learn between the plugins inside of it and keyboard controllers.

Thank you very much for your time,
Yaron

I too have been looking at purchasing a Recptr...there are answers to most of your questions at the Muse Research site under FAQS...It appears the different versions of the unit are configs dealing w/the cpu, memory and HDD size, so go to the Muse site. Ive found the answers to most of my questions there.
