Can I program Receptor to do a pre-set action

While Im getting into using Receptor with Stylus RMX and others Im still amazed that I apparently need a screen to perform certain functions (such as 'start' an RMX loop).
I've got a programmable midi keyboard - but before I go down that route can someone confirm that there is no way to 'press play' and start a Stylus RMX loop without access to a screen. It does seem to defeat the purpose of a 'self-contained' unit.
Even if it means I have a to program a function to get this to work - it would be great to hear from someone whose got this working.
