Far from perfect, it consist of 1 OSC and 1 VCF, the hard part is getting a good spread but i'm working on it.

I say .... oh, god....
Back when I was 8 years old, which was a LOOONG time ago, this was my favorite song ever. I played it obsessively for days. It was my parents' album, and at some point they "lost" it!

A couple of years ago I read a story about a city in New Zealand that had problems with punks in their main shopping street. So they installed small loudspeakers on their street lights and played Barry Manilow all day long.
The punks were gone within a week, but the sales dropped by 50% due to customers staying away as well
PS: I always HATED the music of Barry Manilow from the bottom of my heart.

Hehe - back when I was younger, I had a mate I used to do music with who loved a bit of Barry, and he gave Barry a tape of our demos.
Barry wrote him a nice letter back, with the main criticism that our music should be a bit more "edgey".
So yes, I have the honour of once having Barry Manilow think my music was too safe for his taste...
(Alright, not really *my* music, it was his stuff, and yes it was bland... hehe)

lately the punks next door to me have taken to hanging outside most of the night; the place they like to sit to talk and yell at each other is 15 yards from my bedroom window. I'd been thinking of dragging my PA out on the deck and blasting some opera their way. I remember that story (thought it was Australia), and might have to try it out myself.darem wrote:A couple of years ago I read a story about a city in New Zealand that had problems with punks in their main shopping street. Mike, that sounds fantastic. Hard to believe it's just one osc!

...I say "Why is it that all women I know with the name "Mandy" have large breasts?".
Sorry to degrade the thread.
Yes, Zebra is an amazing synth... but I have to say that it takes a musical hand to make "Mandy" sound as you have.
I could comment on working on a "good spread" but I would degrade this thread even further.
Sorry to bother you lads.....I'm gonna see what my wife is up too.

Nopes brian, that goes for the piano only. The strings are Howards All Strings+bmrzycki wrote:As always Michael I love hearing your exploration into sound design. When you say that's 1 OSC and 1 VCF do you mean for all parts including the strings?
In my (young) days i used to sit down and play to various albums, a 10cc live album was one of them. I would dissect the entire album by first learning the bas, then the guitars, then the keyboards and finally the drums. So in a way 10cc have been a large building block in the way i percieve music todayduncanparsons wrote:..oddly enough, I'd say 'Fly Me'...
Try putting 10cc through Z2

Oh, yes, Live and Let LIVE is great - I love the extended b-side stuff (Ships don't just disappear in the Night and Waterfall), plus the 'Art for Art's Sake' on that is the best version available. Good call on the bands - I owned every Eagles, ELO, 10cc and Alan Parsons album
was never big on Thin Lizzy or Quo, but appreciated where they came from.
