Wusikstation 4.2.2 works on Receptor

I remember lots of threads about WusikStation on the past. V1 always worked great. V2 was a no-go. People struggled with V3, with varying degrees of success. I last tried V4 midway through last year after OS 1.6 was out, and it was a no-go. It would install and play, but trying to view the GUI resulted in a restart of Receptor.

Well, tonight on a whim I tried V4.2.2 and it worked. I have no clue what has changed. I didn't do anything different, it just worked. I got a few strange messages when I first ran it, and one restart, but I've been messing with it for the last hour and it seems pretty stable. Actually the one thing I DID do differently was that ran the "Wusikstation_V422_Updater.exe" program under WINE via SSH and let it create the DLL's and modify my WusikData 1.x content.

Since I already had several versions of Wusik V1 on my Receptor (ManyStation, Vox'ed, TSW) and lots of content, I then ran the "V1_BNK_to_V2_Preset.exe" via ssh/WINE method to convert all my Banks to "Presets". All worked great. Chmod'ed the directories this created (as root) in the Presets folder then then moved them around/organized them, and now it looks just like the V4 on my PC. Fabulous!

Does v4 offer considerable benefits over v3? Debating the hassle of upgrading when I have other tools like Komplete4 and Albino.

Other than stability, I'm not sure. WilliamK could answer this...

I believe V4 was when "stereo sample support" was introduced, but that wouldn't really benefit you unless you bought some new content that utilized the feature.

If your V3 is stable on Receptor, I would leave it alone if I were you!
