HI there. JUst a noob question. I have noticed that every time I want to load a MIDI file into a sequence I get asked if I want to create a new session. What is a session? is it like creating a new song or something?
I have tried to read the help files but can't seem to find anything about sessions and how they differ from a regular tune/composition.
Thanks for any help. :)

A MU.LAB Session contains everything.

It can contain multiple Compositions.

A Composition is a time-based arrangement of Audio and Sequence Parts.

When you import a MIDI file, MU.LAB creates a new Composition for it, because a MIDI file can contain multiple tracks.

If you want to use the imported midi tracks in your original Composition, which is still alive in that Session, then copy the relevant parts to the clipboard, switch to the original Composition and paste the parts where you want.

You can switch Compositions via a right-click in the Composer background.

Hope this helps :)

Gotcha!!!
Thanks for clearing things out. I just wasn't sure if I was going to delete my original composition/session.
Cool little/big app. It reminds me a lot of M..s but with better audio/recording.
