AUDIO DROP OUTS with NI akoustik piano/receptor pro

Hi!
I'm getting audio drop outs, between 2-4 seconds, when using Native Instruments Akousitk Piano along with some other plug-ins. I have about 7 channels occupied (the piano, two very small kontakt libraries, a pro53, an elektrik piano, two b4's), and the system shows a tad under 40% usage. When I hammer along with the piano sounds I get random audio drop outs. My first thought was of course that this is latency related, but the problem persists even at 1024 samples, and the CPU performance meter isn't maxed at all.
Does anyone have a clue what to do with this? I'm using this buddy live and bought it to replace my old pc laptop which had no trouble playing the same setup.
Also, I'm having trouble installing my own Kontakt libraries on the Receptor, that I've created on my computer. I try to drop them in the "install" folder as stated in the manual, but thay fail all the time. I can place the instrument files along with the samples manually, but this way they don't show in the kontakt menu. Does anyone knows what I'm doing wrong here?
I would appreciate any help on this, thanks!!
Regards Anders

If all the channels do not have to be running at the same time (playing along with a sequence for instance), then you should try (if you're not already) using a snapshot multi. I have Ivory, three Scarbee Rhodes variations, B4II, and Pro 53 on my Rev C two gigs of ram in a snapshot and can instantly select any instrument with a program change - the unused channels are bypassed reducing CPU usage. I have not run NI AP for quite some time, but I do not recall audio dropouts - though I was not running it with other instruments. Tom B

Another thing you should try is loading the "light" version of the ElecrikPiano sounds and turning off DFD there in EP. I have had problems running multiple NI products that all use DFD, and only having DFD on in the one that really needed it (also my acoustic piano lib in K2) solved that for me.
Also I found that K2 playing the Acoustik Piano libs streams better than AP itself, and lastly, the convolution reverb is AP is a real CPU hog.

I remember having the same problems with Elektik piano as well, especially when playing with the sustain pedal, it would just kind of run out of notes (no matter what polyphony I would set it to), and really not regain its pose but after a couple of seconds by releasing the pedal. But that time it didn't actually help any to turn off DFD, so I returned it to it's original state. I'll give that a try again!
Using AP from within Kontakt also seems to be a good idea to try! About the AP reverb within AP, there isn't really any way to shut it off is there, the only way to disable it is to drag the value knob to zero right? Or did I miss out on something?
And a last question about snapshots: I am using them, it works great! But I may be doing wrong in not bypassing them but rather giving them other not used midi channels (don't ask me why, I will of course try to change this next time I'm in the rehearsal studio!). Is there a difference in performance in doing the one or the other?
Thanks a lot for your replies guys, I appreciate it a lot!!

Not sure if the zero value still uses CPU, I'm guessing it does. Click the "economy" button though if you use it, and it definitely uses much less CPU.lillstugan wrote: About the AP reverb within AP, there isn't really any way to shut it off is there, the only way to disable it is to drag the value knob to zero right?
