Hello,
I have another question regarding Receptor... i cant connect it in manual mode, or auto dhcp... i can connect it in crossover mode.. but nothing else
Connecting it in crossover mode is not a problem, the problem is i want to have internet access while using Receptor
I bought a switch, connected the "normal" cable from Receptor to the switch, and the Crossover one from the switch to PC.
My internet connection works fine, but the Receptor doesnt work at all..
Is there anything i can do?
Thanks in advance!

That would be the problem i would think. I use mine connected to a hub under auto and have internet also. Use regular ethernet cables for this purpose and set to auto. If youre connecting crossover you need to use a proper crossover cable straight from the the receptor to the computer or i dont think it will work. If using auto or manual make sure your connection settings on your computer are appropriately selected. If manual you will need to know the IP address. There are good tutorials for setting this up on the plugorama website hereAndrw wrote:

Hey,
Thanks for your answer Atardecer. I tried that, I can see the receptor's name in the remote control.. but when i try to connect i always get this message:
Connecting to Receptor-1:1 ...
Status: Connection established.
Security type requested.
and then..
The operation appears to have failed. Try again?
Here's a picture..

Again, thanks for the reply.

what OS are you using? I had real problems with Vista. Even with XP I had to do a lot of rebooting at first, but the help files at http://www.plugorama.com/customer/docum ... e=basics#c were pretty useful, although it took a while.

Hmmm, first thins first use receptor remote to verify that you have a connection. Make sure you enter the right name of the receptor (the name you use in the setup on the receptor - ie. Receptor-1). Also try to access the receptor hard drive from your computer. Create a shortcut to it on the desktop. If you cant access the hard drive then theres a definate connection problem. I know the receptor can be touchy about the order in which you boot hings up - i think you have to do the receptor first, then boot the computer. I have had this problem on my laptop before where it only seemed to work in crossover mode. When using receptor remote sometimes youve gotta try it a couple of times for it to "take". Apart from that im not sure
