I read in an SOS article in 2005 that a future software update for the receptor may allow midi interfaces and audio interfaces to be connected. Is this possible?? So far i can only see that 2 usb keyboards are compatible. What are the 4 usb2 ports for then??
I would really like to have my e-drum kit and midi keyboard connected at the same time. Anyone know how i can do this??
Many thanks.

You can connect more than one MIDI source to Receptor in several ways. The simplest would be to buy a 2 in, 1 out MIDI merge box (or a 4 in, 1 out unit). Or you could get a more complicated MIDI interface, which may be overkill for what you need, but has potential advantages in terms of flexibility. Lastly, some equipment will let you merge in a second MIDI source (for example, the Novation Remote SL will let you plug a MIDI source into an IN port and combine the signal with its own to the OUT port).
Here's a link to a 2 in, 1 out MIDI merge box: http://www.midi-store.com/Midi-Solution ... 16179.html A 4 to 1 MIDI merge unit is also available there.
MOTU makes real solid hardware including MIDI interfaces - visit motu.com - if you need something more flexible.
I believe it would technically be more difficult for Muse to set up the USB port to handle more keyboards or MIDI controllers. I can't really think of any advantage to anyone for them to do so. I use my USB port for an iLok, but not much else.
Good luck

I think there are quite a few keyboards that are OK with USB these days - anything class-compliant should be fine.
At the moment I've got two older keyboards (non-USB) going into a MIDI merge box like that, and also an Evolution UC-33e controller going directly in via USB, which I use to control the mixer and the sounds on the B4.

When I have a bit more spare cash, I'll get a USB keyboard, because I quite often get notes left hanging on with the midi merger I have.
