Question about Zebra2 & MIdi Controllers

Ok, so I'm currently studying piano and am in the market for a large keyboard. I've been debating between buying something like more like a synth keyboard (Roland Juno-G, Yamaha MM8, etc...) or a 61/88 key MIDI keyboard. My dilemma is that I love my Zebra2 and use it for most everything in my music, but am not sure how well it translates and works with a MIDI keyboard. Can you do basic functions such as cycle patches via a MIDI keyboard with Zebra2, set buttons to turn the first row of effects modules off/on (regardless of whether a reverb, compress, delay, etc.. is in that slot? Any info or insight would be appreciated because there's a big difference between a $300 MIDI keyboard and a $1000+ synth keyboard! Thanks!
