I'd like to buy Zebra this week-end. But I can't find any info on upgrade pricing. Will it be free to upgrade to Zebra 3 once it is released?
Anybody knows?
Are you talking Z1 -> Z2? That was the only paid-for upgrade ever, at 20 USD.

Z3? how can you even think about Z3.. Z2 is so packed with so many features and dohikeys that I suspect many sounds have yet to be created with this device... what on earth could you be wanting from a complete number upgrade?? :c0

And Urs is very generously adding (even quite major) new features in .x updates - that have been so far free.
I would kinda want Urs to charge something for a 2->3 upgrade, just to make sure he has enough income to keep developing for us. But v3 is probably quite far in the future, partly because Urs does keep adding new features in .x updates.
So, in a nutshell, just buy it and you'll feel good about it.

Not much... but I am an anxious person by nature.VitaminD wrote:Z3? how can you even think about Z3.. Z2 is so packed with so many features and dohikeys that I suspect many sounds have yet to be created with this device... what on earth could you be wanting from a complete number upgrade?? :c0
I agree with you that Zebra 2, as it is right now, is filled with endless sonic possibilities. But you never know what can come next. You could always improve something that is already great. (Interface, CPU consumption, speed, etc.)
And since I am new to this community, and I do not know much about pricing and upgrade mechanism with Zebra, I think it is a legitimate question.
I hope that this is all right with you.

its a very fair question!!
Z2.5 is planned witch will have lots of cool things that we don't have & its a free update, & in-between we keep getting nice things added for free,
Urs is not a greedy developer & v3 is not planned any time soon
i'm sure you will be a happy customer if you buy Zebra2

Look for the crossgrade offer, it could save you some moneyBB King wrote:Not much... but I am an anxious person by nature.VitaminD wrote:Z3? how can you even think about Z3.. I understand. However, I see no need to cop an attitude over thisBB King wrote:Not much... but I am an anxious person by nature.VitaminD wrote:Z3? how can you even think about Z3.. What attitude? I am a totally "attitude-free" person. I am surprised by your statement, as I always try to be as pleasant as possible. I was just trying to make it clear that I am new to the community.VitaminD wrote:I understand. As for relaxing, me and my therapist are working on it... and we agreed that music could be a key ingredient to the solution.
Heu... just to avoid any confusion again, that was a joke.
Cheers.
