I have a Rev. C Receptor with a good compliment of VSTs and VSTIs, which I am using outboard to Sonar 7. I am curious as to how many simultaneous instances of UniWire is considered "many" in people's workflow. What is the cumulative overhead?
In planning out compositions, I am wondering how best to allot instruments and effects between the host DAW and the Receptor.
Thanks,

Just base it on how many MIDI channels you will need. One Uniwire provides 16 midi channels, you can add up to 16 Uniwires. I like Uniwre for orchestra stuff in which it requires more than 16 midi channels for articulations. Cumulative overhead, is what Receptor is about. It's main job is to reduce overhead, so run the CPU hungry plugins on Receptor.
