I will be away for some days, but I have installed MULAB 2 and here is a first bug :
when you maximise the main window, and then open a child windows (eg : the part color window, or a context menu), when you close that child window, the main window size is restored to its original size, but doesn't stay maximised.
Hum, is that clear ?

Yes, it's clear, and indeed it's true.
Will be fixed!
Just for now: maximize the window manually and then it's ok.

Nice bug
(confirmed here).
Jo -- will the 2.0 final support 1.x sessions? This test version does seem able to read 1.1's MuSession files.
In MultiSampla, deleting a zone could be easier. It should feel more like click a Part, hit Delete (key), gone. Also, the zone isn't removed from the display when deleted, until - e.g. - you try to select it.

MultiSampla patches: how easy are they to share? They get stored in MULAB\Library\MultiSampla -- but where do the samples live? What if they're in a different place on someone else's machine? Etc...

Well done!
Pros
Mu.Lab 2 Test A loads all my earlier projects after scanning VSTs.
I like the new way of placing/hiding the racks at the bottom of the main window.
Typical projects run at 30% CPU, it that's of interest. A slight improvement for me.
Extra presets are appreciated
Cons
The Tools button only seems to do one thing: "Add a sample"
Something VERY BAD happens when opening LFX-1310, SR202, DS404 VSTs for OSX: 1 good VST like normal, but some screen drawing overwrites duplicate image behind the Mu.Lab main window top left corner! I've never seen this before.
Choosing an external audio editor doesn't show in the Edit/Preferences/ like before...
I can use this version to make music. The main thing.

Did you try beforehand? What happened?toxicoh wrote:Mu.Lab 2 Test A loads all my earlier projects after scanning VSTs.
(I'll also try re-saving the MuSession I was having problems with using 1.1, as it could have been old.)
<edit>
Ah, the session I was trying to open was from Test 20080125 rather than 1.1. Maybe that's it? (1.1 can't open it either.)

Hi Jo
Thanks for the new beta
I have discovered a problem that was fixed in V1 but is back in V2.
The Plugin scanner hangs and crashes the whole program when it comes to Tone2 Firebird+
After a restart of Mulab all the other plugins get scanned correctly but Firebird+ gets ignored.
Edit....
I figured out what was killing my Firebird+
It was my antivirus software f-secure
(when i disabled it Firebird worked fine).

Hi jo!
Sampler is awesome!!
Synthia looks very cool too! You must never rename this one.
Bugs:
Occasional (well, often) crash when opening a new session from an open one.
Occasional Crash after some random fiddling with settings in the red Sampla interface. (Will further investigate this one). Could be something about nudging loop points.
Strange idiosyncrasies:
-Can't name a sequence on creating one (I was going to post about this for ages).
-No keystroke for "save as" (again, an old one I take the opportunity to bring up).
Possible finetunings:
Automatic transpose for a loop to fit song tempo (Sampla).
This is going to someplace very very cool Jo!!

OSX 10.4.11
Strange goings-on - 2 files appeared on my desktop I positively didn't create or put there:
http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/5/13/ ... AB%202.Txt
appears to be a weird clone of MU.LAB's preferences list
http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/5/13/ ... .MuSession
is a bit of a mystery as I never saved a session by that name...
Crash log:
http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/5/13/ ... .crash.log
(also has some version "1.0 Unlimited" stuff in it, not that I know much of that stuff but you'll definitely find the right bits
I keep the test version in a folder named "MULAB 2.0 test" on my desktop.
the MULAB 1.0 folder curently resides in my documents folder renamed to "MULAB_aktuelle_Version" ("proper version") to avoid conflict.

strange goings-on #2, when I opened MU.LAB shortly before I noticed the rougue files on my desktop, the GUI window appeared as small as you can drag it so I had to drag it wide open again to see everything.

saving weirdness:
1. open a new project
2. choose "save" or "save as" "new file", type the name you want to save it under.
3. Bizarrely, MU.LAB will ask you if you want to "overwrite existing MU.LAB 2.Musession"
P.S:
I just trashed the (apparently) offending "MU.LAB 2 .musession" (two posts above) , now on restart I have to go through the license/setup business again as if I had installed MU.LAB anew.
PPS: Went through the motions of agreeing to the terms etc etc again, opened MU.LAB, small GUI window again.
Text file named "MULAB 2.TXT" appears on my desktop again
