Loading FXB

Hello,
I have problems when loading FXB to a VST filter, using "Open Program/Bank". It selects by default the first preset of the bank (I know it because I read its name using "Rename Program"), but now when I want to change program, using "Choose Program", it tells me that the VST "has only 1 vst program". Of course, that's why I have just loaded more.
But how to change the program?
(I used VST Preset Generator. When loading a single program (fxp), it worked.
http://vst-preset-gen.sourceforge.net/)
Thanks,
Adam

When MU.LAB says 'Vst plugin has only 1 program', that is because the vst tells this to MU.LAB.
IF the vst plugin contains multiple programs/presets/patches then you'll have to choose them in the vst plugin editor itself, as the vst plugin is not communicating this to the vst host, in this case MU.LAB.

So what is the answer to my question: "how to change the program"?
The vst plugin has only 1 program, that's true. I have an FXB file. MU.LAB loaded it. I want to change its program (it's a bank, so it have multiple presets). How to do this?

Euh, as i wrote, you have to do it via the vst plugin's editor itself.admc wrote:So what is the answer to my question: "how to change the program"?

You can open the editor of a vst plugin by
-> double-clicking its name
or
-> clicking the little arrow near its name
or
-> right-clicking the name and choose "Edit"
Hope this helps.

I don't know what are you talking about. The VST Plugin's Editor is already opened. Here there are only the options of the VST effect. There aren't any presets, I cannot choose here the preset to use. Because this plugin has only one preset. And it doesn't have an own GUI, it uses the MU.LAB default. That's not what I need. Here's a screenshot:
http://www.admc.hu/ezvan.jpg
The upper window "mda Ban..." is the opened plugin window. The bottom menu and the selected menu item is where I browse for the FXB file. And then I select, and want to use the other presets of the bank.
There is an FXB file, with a lot of presets in it. There are 10 presets in my FXB bank, randomly generated by a program. Each preset tells to my VST plugin the options. The FXB bank is loaded. MU.LAB loaded the first preset by default. Now I would like to hear the second one, the third one...
I'm sure that MU.LAB can load the other presets, without the help of the VST plugin. I know it because when I load FXP files (single presets), MU.LAB tells the things to do to the VST plugin. I hope that for now, you understand my problem. If not, please, read my question again.
But I try to say it all simpler: what to do after using the "Open Program/Bank" function? Where to click to see/use the whole loaded bank? With all its presets? (VST plugin's window is not the right solution.)

Thanks for giving more details.
Indeed, Mda Bandisto doesn't have an editor of its own, so that's why MU.LAB opens a default editor for this plugin.
So the only way to browse the different programs in this plugin is via the "Choose Program" menu option, like you do.
But thing is that Mda Bandisto can only load 1 program.
So if you make an FXB file with more than 1 program in it, then the other programs are ignored, because Mda Bandisto can only load 1 program.
So you'll have to make an FXP file for each program separately, and load that individually. That's the way Mda Bandisto works.
Does this answer your question?

Thank you, this answers my question, but it's no good news...mutools wrote:Does this answer your question?
I used separate FXP files so far, this was my idea, too. It's not too comfortable, because I would like to use a lot of random presets, to make it easier to know the effects of the different parameters, instead of so much clickings and draggings.
Isn't there a way to make more FXP files from an FXB? It would be very useful.
It would be useful too, if MU.LAB would do this extraction automatically, when noticing that the VST plugin doesn't support banks with multiple presets.

Sorry, this functionality is not in there.
Can't your randomizer program save as separate fxp files?

You can use Wusik VM to do this.admc wrote:Thank you, this answers my question, but it's no good news...mutools wrote:Does this answer your question?

There are two options here: to generate a single FXP or generate an FXB bank, and giving the number of programs to generate. Can't combine.mutools wrote:Can't your randomizer program save as separate fxp files?
But you are right, that the easiest thing to do now is to do something with the randomizer program. I'm going to try to modify the source code and compile it again (for the first time in my life

Note that, in this case, you cannot first load the bank into the plug, then split up the bank.aMUSEd wrote:You can use Wusik VM to do this.
Because this plug (Mda Bandisto) can only load 1 program, and the FXB file has 10 programs.
Not sure how wusik vm handles this.

I don't know how VM would handle that in this case but it can extract fxp's from most fxb's and in future if these are saved as fxps it will make loading them easier as it will manage the fxp's as well (more than if they were in a bank actually)
