The first non-NI app has appeared on the Receptor's Direct Install: it is Addictive Drums from XLN Audio.
I hope someone who owns Addictive Drums will give us a user update, but I'm assuming it is as straightforward as all the NI apps have been.

I haven't been able to get it to install yet. First problem is the .exe file that Direct install is looking for is 'Install Addictive Drums Windows.exe'. The file on my AD dvd has some numbers in the name, so DI doesn't recognize it and keeps asking for the dvd to start installation.
I copied the dvd to my laptop, renamed the .exe to what DI is expecting and burned a new dvd. I did an install to a pc just to make sure it would work from the copied dvd. Now Direct Install starts the installation but craps out after a few seconds. I've opened a service ticket at plugorama - hoping to hear from them soon.

Well, it wasn't exactly straightforward, but we got it working with the help of Vik at Muse.I hope someone who owns Addictive Drums will give us a user update, but I'm assuming it is as straightforward as all the NI apps have been.

FYI:
The Direct Install for Addictive Drums prompts you to download a MRPK that you put into your "drop installers here" folder on the Receptor HD.
For some reason the DI installer that was put up originally was broken and as a temporary solution, they created a rpm installer.
To locate the addictive-drums-1.1.1-3.mrpk file, click on the "Install Latest Update Tab" and follow the instructions.
Hope this helps,

I just got Addictive Drums today but the Direct Installer won't work. Instructions say don't insert the DVD until DI tells you to. So, when I follow through (when DI tells me to insert the DVD and hit "OK"), one of two things happens; it either says the DVD is not in the drive (even though it is) or, if I wait a moment for my Mac to read the disk (shows up as an Addictive Drums disk on my desktop), the Direct Installer EJECTS the disk when I hit "OK".
I'm using OS 10.4.11, though I don't think this is the problem. Receptor Remote Control works fine.
I hope someone can help me out here. Addictive Drums is now the 2nd drum program I've spent $ on that DOES NOT INSTALL. (The other being Toontracks Superior 2.0.) I am not real happy right now...
OK, I'm going to go watch TV for a while and calm down a bit!
Thanks for any help!
UPDATE: I should also add that my Receptor tools, OS, etc... are all current... . And...I've cooled off. Sorry for the slight rant above!

Just to update anybody interested, I opened a ticket through Plugorama regarding my issue above and it appears there is some Direct Install issue with version 1_1_1 of Addictive Drums. I'm not sure if this is the same thing Mortimer B. was talking about above, but it does seem to be related to DI not being able to see the Windows version of the .mrpk file. At any rate there doesn't seem to be a solution imminent as I was not given any kind of estimated fix date. Hope it's soon, though... .
