Has anyone used this library in Zebra2? I'm assuming the conversion tool will do the job?

Architecture Waveforms Cakewalk Edition

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think Zebra 2 only works with single cycle waveforms.
These look loke much more than that.

Post

absolutely not.

These are single cycle waveforms... -- Rapture works on single cycles... :-) samples, too... yes, I know...

( I do not know if these can work in Zebra )

Post

I've loaded some of these into Zebra using the .wav2Zebra converter with okay results.

Rapture actually CAN use waveforms that are not single cycle, and some are included.

This set is single cycle though.

I know what you want MitchK1989

Your very own link, enjoy

I don't see where it says, "plz list all files rapture is capable of loading," I do however see where I said, "samples, too... yes, I know..."
This wave set is definitely single cycle, I am glad we can agree on that. :-)

It doesn't have any sfz files, it also doesn't have any presets, and it can be used in any synth that will load a wave file........

Anyways, enjoy your link. Have a pleasant day.
Cheers

Oops... I am so sorry. I posted while still half asleep (stayed up until 2 AM making a video for the cohmpetition promo after finding that the files spewed out by my screen recorder weren't compatible with any of my video editing programs)

But yeah, I could see at least some of these waveforms converting into zebra oscillators easily (the ultra high frequency ones probably not, as zebra only has so many points that can be defined per waveform right?)

So what synth would these waveforms actually work to their full potential in? One where you can load these as oscs, LFOs, and WAVESHAPER CURVES. I don't think rapture does the waveshaper bit...

Post

These wave forms are great for Rapture, and I believe they are also available in " absynth format " whatever that may be.........
I think it would be up to the sound designer, and not the synth to use these waveforms to their full potential though....

:-)
But, that is the case with any tool. It is not the tool that uses itself to the full potential....

I've actually had talks with Andrew from Galbanum. Was a while ago. I have yet to write a tool that lets him convert his wave format to mine. But then we might see Architecture Universal Waveforms for Zebra as well 8)

A lot of these made their way into Massive's wavetables too

The Absynth format isn't samples; it's amplitude and phase for the first 63 partials.

Each wave is 2048 samples long, zebra's geoblend allows 128. That's four octaves so quite a big shift is required to transform them. I've tried it a number of different ways with varying results (i.e some methods worked better for certain subsets of the waves than others). Still, I barely scratched the surface (at least as far as z2 is concerned, but that wasn't why I bought them anyway). I'd definitely be interested in a set specifically created for z2 (especially if they were spectroblend).

That would be wonderful. My only complaint about Zebra2 is the lack of waveform content that comes with it. What is provided seems kinda random compared to, say Massive or the MicrowaveXT. Granted you can draw your own waveforms but this is extremely daunting on top of the modular approach the synth offers.

I've felt the same way, honestly. I keep demoing zebra over and over again, and I think the 2.5 update has enough stuff to make me finally pull the trigger, but I really would appreciate a bunch of included wavetables.
