I posted a similar question on the Cubase.net forum, but am being impatient.
Is there a way to have a mono track? Or use Zebra in a mono mode? For instance, a simple bassline doesn't need to be in stereo. I realize if I set the osc width to zero, both channels should be the same, as long as I don't add stereo effects.
Mono Track

Hi,
Zebra is stereo through and through... adding the ability to just switch things to mono would cost more cpu than mono processing would save (because most algorithms work in parallel SIMD instructions anyway, that is MMX, SSE and Altivec).
It depends on the host if you can insert in on a mono track. I.e. in Logic (AU) and Pro Tools (RTAS) I'm 100% certain that the stereo output is mixed down to mono. In VST this seems somewhat undefined to me, but if a host does what I would expect (send a NULL buffer for right channel, or an identical pointer as the left hand side), Zebra would also do this.

Couldn't you put a compressor in the same track and set it to mono? I know for instance the Blockfish compressor (sorry for dropping that here
) has a "mono" switch.
