Hi,

Just bought Broken Drum Machine.
I really like the concept of this thing, but I'm having a hard time understanding how to set it up.

1. First of all the mod packs confuse me. Why do I have to change the whole modpack just to change the GUI? I really like the more plain looking one (that I thought was the default look when I bought it), but seems to only be in the extra mod pack. ( I guess I'll make my own default BDM folder then).

2. Does it come with three modpacks cause in the Nusofting Data folder there's a BDM folder + two other Modpacks.

2. Tried uploading the Shy-preset bank that came with the full version, but Ableton tells me it's not applicable to BDM. Do I have to import the extra midi patterns and preset files into my BDM folder (in the Nusofting Data)?

3. Why can I not map the drumpads to my liking. The pads are situated two octaves lower than Impulse. Can not use my drumpads because of this.

4. BDM's midi layout does not show up in Live's pianoroll. So programming drum pattern is very cumbersome.

5. The Branis Modpack GUI does not work properly, as the pads does not react to midi and when I click them there's no sound.

6. Is there any other way to implement the patterns that comes with the full version other then importing them into Live?

7, Am I just being an idiot?

I will at least first go through the manual and look for answers.
The plugin works fine and all was just baffled by the unconventional way of setting it up.

Do you want my answers now or after you have read the manual? <grin>

Some answers now please.

Read the manual, so now I know that the way of setting it up worked better with the overall structure of a circuit bending PCM drummachine.
In my questions I am sorta hinting at future improvements though.

Especially curious about solving some of the midi issues.

The pattern issue was me just being confused about there being two folders with the same patterns (realized one was with combined and one seperated).

Now I know I'm an idiot at least :-o

you don't, you may just change the skin folder

they should be two, where do I wrote three?
2. Tried uploading the Shy-preset bank that came with the full version, but Ableton tells me it's not applicable to BDM. Do I have to import the extra midi patterns and preset files into my BDM folder (in the Nusofting Data)?
sorry that bank was saved with a beta and doesn't work now, anyway I inlcuded them in the default bank
3. Why can I not map the drumpads to my liking. The pads are situated two octaves lower than Impulse. Can not use my drumpads because of this.
the map is fixed in BDM, but if you use Live simple add a MIDI tool to your track and match the same notes of Impulse
4. BDM's midi layout does not show up in Live's pianoroll. So programming drum pattern is very cumbersome.
please check the map in the Manual, maybe one day I will make the names visible in Live
5. The Branis Modpack GUI does not work properly, as the pads does not react to midi and when I click them there's no sound.
yes a small bug, here is the fixed file to use in that Skin

no, those are MIDI loops, just drag them inside as Clips
7, Am I just being an idiot?
well no, I don't think so
