As I said before, discuss about the opportunity to have alternate folder(s) for the samples.
Pros : you can use your own samples without moving them i the MDrummer folder
Cons : it can be very messy

You can't always get what you waaaant...

Hi stanlea - so my solution:stanlea wrote:As I said before, discuss about the opportunity to have alternate folder(s) for the samples.

MDrummer will be installed the same way it is (I want to keep it centralized). But if you want to use your own samples, MSampler will have an optional source directory, so you won't hierarchically browse our directory structure, but your own.

Something I felt could be improved is the workflow in drawing patterns in the rhythm generator/editor windows. A couple things I think could make a huge difference:
1.) As it is, you can only affect the velocity of a note by dragging the velocity bar in the controller pane at the bottom. It would be sweet if you click/hold on an existing note in the grid and drag vertically to raise/lower the velocity. (A good example of this would be Reaper's piano roll, if you need to see it in action.)
2.) If you hold control and drag, you get the temporary selection marquee, which is cool. I think one thing that would help editing a lot, though, is if you could have the ability to only show controllers for the track you have selected. As it is, if you have a kick and hat (for example) hitting on the same beat, in order to edit the velocity on only one of them, you have to select it with the marquee. It would be nice to have the option to click the track's name on the left side of the window and show only that track in the conrtollers pane (Cubase's drum editor is a nice example of this). It would make editing a lot quicker because you wouldn't have to switch back-and-forth between the pen and the selection tool.
I realize these are probably somewhat major feature requests, but these two items, at least for me, would make a huge difference in the speed of editing patterns.

Ok, I'll try to reply.
As for the 1st wish - if some note is selected, all parameter values to nonselected notes will disappear from the bottom panel.
Good enough?
In pen mode (default) you draw notes, so grag & drop is not possible. However in selection mode you can work with the "note parameters" on the right and all notes are immediately modified (only changed parameters). We could use mouse-wheel if you think it may help, ?sockofgold wrote: 1.) As it is, you can only affect the velocity of a note by dragging the velocity bar in the controller pane at the bottom. Well, why not - but I'd change it a little - when you click on a track (btw. it has a problem, that using drag & drop you can change track order), it will select all notes in the track.sockofgold wrote: 2.) I couldnt make my own thread, so I am posting here.
I watched on the first video "Chapter 1: Basics" that there is a jam mode...I tried to get this to work last night...I mean, wow! That is amazing! But after monkeying around with it for a while, I still couldnt figure it out. Anyone have a quasi tutorial approach on how to set it up?
That would be amazing for what I do, as I play freehand most of the the time.

It is pretty simple - enable jam mode for a rhythm you would like to jam with and play your keyboard on that channel. For example, load bossa nova at channel 1 and enable jam mode for that rhythm channel. And then play your keyboard on MIDI channel 1 (the same one). Normally MDrummer would think you are giving him commands, btu when jam mode is enabled, he listens and jams with you instead.metafex wrote:I couldnt make my own thread, so I am posting here.

Don't hesitate to ask if not clear yet.
Btw. am I the only one who can create threads? (I am a moderator, but anyway...)
If so, please send me an email to info@meldaproduction.com and I'll create threads as necessary. On the other hand this way I can keep order here

Is there anyway to make the host and Mdrummer sinc their tempo? I can't find any way to do that so far, but then again, I haven't looked for very long... If there isn't, that would be a idea for improvement.

And yes, I haven't had time to try jam mode yet, but it sounds incredible! Can't wait till tonight when I can try it? Exactly how intelligent is it? can it tell what tempo you're playing at, and when you want breaks, etc?

Hey ro please explain it a little bit more. MDrummer should always be in sinc with the host. (btw. what host do you use?)ro1000 wrote:Is there anyway to make the host and Mdrummer sinc their tempo? The tempo is predefined in standalone and in sinc with host in VST plugin. It plays breaks after some predefined number of bars and adjusts level according to your playing. It is no super hot AI whatsoever, but I think it would not be so hard to make (term AI is overratedro1000 wrote:And yes, I haven't had time to try jam mode yet, but it sounds incredible!
