sorry for the german sentence, but Urs is german as me and the name of the vsti forced me to make this joke ... couldn't resist. :-)

anyway, I am struggling with podolski vsti in the free-version from an ancient keyboards-cd. it is a very fine synth, I like him very much and so I used to use it a umber of projects.

now I have reinstalled windows xp sp3 and wanted to work on a project including podolski. the vsti starts, but accepts no change of sound. all I get is a "tuuuuuuuuuuut", no matter, what preset I click or if I turn on the knobs in the gui. I made some mor new installations of podolski, regarding the manual. put the u-he - folder in every place, I could imagine, that it belongs there: nothing. only "tuuuuuuut". same in cubase, vst-host and any other host-application I tried. so the host cant be the thing.

so my question: what is it? I am mistaken?? or doesnt work podolski no more?? :-))

I would appreciate some hints, how to get this vsti working.

I'm totally überfragt hier... strange...

Does the gui look normal?

Post

:-)) ich bin auch totally frustated ...

so, the gui looks normal, the knobs act normal, but nothing happens.

I have just received another copy of podolski that definetely works on a friends computer. I have seen it. 1:1 copy on my computer and it doesnt work. strange ... maybe the usual suspects?? winXP?? the registry doesnt tell anything about podolski, I thought, that maybe there are some mismatsch with the paths, but it wasnt.

is there anybody else using podolski?

Super weird!

Please try to install msvcr71.dll again... this is the one thing that gets messed up on XP recoveries and stuff...

Otherwise d'oh... delete any occurrance of com.u-he.Podolski.midimap.txt for any accidental MidiLearns...

:help:

so, registering of the .dll does work halfway, reg-server says, .dll is registered but cant find server point. :-( dont know, what that means. I downloaded another .dll and overwrote in system32, same result.

deleted the *midimap.txt (one in the cubase-folder?? anyway ... its gone. the result now is, that I can use the knobs, and they work fine, but no presets. (I am a fundamentalistic preset-clicker, for I am guitarist ... )

so, I think, time will tell. maybe some podolski will work again ... on my computer and on the green. :-))

a thousand thanx for your help, immediately and qualified. its not your fault and you did it for a free and old plugin. that is beyond everything, I would have expected. thanx again!

if I get it on some day up and running again, I will let you know. :-))

wow, I did not know of the existence of this little synth, and sadly it seems that I won't as i get the following installation error:

Install Failed
The following install failed: run postinstall script for podolski-1. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

Does anyone else experience this?

But then a strange fear gripped me
and I just couldn't ask....

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm having one issue with the version found oh U-He website. Namely, it won't install the 32-bit version at all.

During the setup process, it lets me choose the path for VST64 and Podolski.data, but for VST32 versopm is all grayed out with a path of a plugin I installed ages ago. But even going to that folder that path specified, it's not there. I even did a hard drive wide search for "podolski" file, it only found the x64 version it installed.

I just installed Podolski1316Win.zip to my Windows Desktop/1 directory, selected VST2 32-bit and VST2 64-bit. The resulting install created Desktop/1/Podolski.dll and Desktop/1/Podolski(x64).dll. Seems to be working here.

It might be a registry issue -- the new installers store install directories now.
Try deleting the keys located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/U-HE/VST and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/U-HE/VST with regedit.exe. The key VSTPluginsPath in both paths above seems to be the culprit.

Thanks, that solved it. I didn't had the second registry key, but found the first one, deleted it and it "un-grayed" the installation path for 32-bit version.
Cheers!
