This is a feature request for Runciter (if there's a uhbik FR thread that I've missed, apologies).

It would be more musically useful and efficient for me if I had a classic AR envelope instead of the "env mode" and "env rate" controls. That way I could just dial in exactly what I need. I find myself spending way too much time fiddling with these settings to get what I want. Opinions?

For the envelope follower, Attack and Release do not make that much sense because they interact. If the Attack is, say, 10 ms, a Release of 1000ms is not much different from a Release of 8000ms. Thus I find separate controls to have a wide range of frustration potential. This led to the decision to simply stay with three different ratios between Attack and Release (fast, ride, slow), and have full control of the overall rate - which I find way more satisfying.

For transient or midi triggered envelopes I agree, separate Attack and Release would be useful. And these will be available with Uhbik-X. As will an LFO of course... :)

I'll dive into the last missing bits of Uhbik-X when back from vacation.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Thanks for sharing your thinking behind the design. I was in fact using it in Transient mode. Sounds like Uhbik-X will open lots of doors... there seems to be a line up... ;)

I still think sticking "LFO" in as an envelope follower type would make the individual runcitter plugin more useful than it already is. :)

Wouldn't even require any extra knobs.

Hmmm... have to think about it...
