MU.LAB 2.5.4 has been released:
  • New Event Monitor Plugin
  • MU.LAB now filters out All Notes Off messages at its MIDI input (user preference)
  • Improved support for wide monitors (>2048 pixels)
  • Bug fix in mixdown to AIFF 32 bit files
  • OSX: Optimized drawing system
  • OSX: Fixed: Clicking a locator to set the position at that locator didn't properly work
  • WIN: Dropped files now use a proper MU.LAB file path
If you already have installed MU.LAB 2.5.x then you can just replace the current application file by this patch:

OSX: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/mulab-254-osx-patch.zip
WIN: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/mulab-254-win-patch.zip

That way you don't have to re-setup anything.

If you did not yet install MU.LAB you can download the full package from http://www.mutools.com/downloads.html

I loaded up DarkDriver, shifted RingHat down to second slot in the Hats rack, inserted a MUX, opened up and added an Event Monitor and routed Event Input to it, then hit play. Nothing appeared in the monitor? I guess I did it wrong! Ah, the events from the event input have to pass through the monitor! Hmm!

Post

Yes, the events have to go thru the Event Monitor.

The good thing is that you can monitor at whatever point now.

This little helper plugin was needed to diagnose an All Notes Off issue.

And so now we got it in MU.LAB 'for free' :)

NB: Not usable within a MuSynth patch as this is not a voiced plugin.

What is this new Event Monitor Plugin ? I can't find it in 2.5.4 ?
What is it for ?

Post

Eg in the MUX -> "Add Plugin" -> "Others"

It just displays which MIDI events are streaming thru it and that can be handy to diagnose the event stream.
