Dear all,
I am trying to write a 5.1 delay plugin with Sonic Birth. The logic is all correct, I have 6 inputs, 6 outputs. But when I load the audio unit in to Logic Pro, it does not recognise the plugin. Plugin manager says that it isn't valid.
Any suggestions please?

Hi,
what does the AudioUnit Manager in Logic say the error is when you let it rescan the PlugIn?
Which Version of Logic are you using?

Hi Ian,
AudioUnit Manager says the plugin isn't valid.
I have tried on both Logic Pro 7.2.3 (at home) and Logic Studio (at Uni).
In fact Logic doesn't like anything exported from SonicBirth with more than 2 inputs or outputs.

My surround plug-ins http://www.radio.uqam.ca/ambisonic/surr ... elper.html http://www.radio.uqam.ca/ambisonic/dms2five.html http://www.radio.uqam.ca/ambisonic/zoom2five.html all show up and work in Logic.
The only constraint is that they will show up in a track that has the same number of channels that of the plug-in. Are you using the latest SB version, 1.3.1b2? http://www.radio.uqam.ca/ambisonic/soni ... _beta2.zip

Does it work now?
Are we both talking about the detailed report that you get when you open the manger, select the corrupt AU and click on "rescan selected". That helped me sometime to figure out some errors.
In my case, it was an instrument that I build in SB which had no Inputs and if I remember correctly Logic insisted on the same amount of In- and Outputs in the AU. Don't know if that helps.

It works perfectly now with the 1.3.1 beta2 of SB.
However, I did try the method you described Ian and it indeed did work, but I had to "force" it through every time as Logic refused to allow the Plugin to pass validation.
My stereo plugs worked fine, it was anything with more than 2 ins, 2 outs which caused a bit of trouble. But every plugin built with the latest version of SB which Daniel kindly posted the link for works perfectly.
Thanks again Daniel and Ian for your help
