ZebraCM "license"?

This kind of question might be answered but as I know Urs is checking here, I would like to ask the developer directly for my "problem".
First of all, I love ZebraCM, even it's just a lite version of Zebra 2 it blew me away. I ordered CM issue #137 online to get it here in Germany mostly for getting ZebraCM.
I am having my own blog, where I like to present free good sources for making music or great value for money products, so I made a post about the CM Studio Collection and also ZebraCM. Also I am operator in a small irc-community of musicians and producers, using mostly software for their productions and I also recommend them to get an issue of CM and to get this synth. I am in this community since around 8 years by now, we do have little community meetings while we meet for a weekend and have a bbq and stuff like that.
Now I am having the problem that some people are asking me to share the ZebraCM installer with them which is the point where I get stucked. I know magware isnt freeware. I guess developers get a lil fee for every issue sold, the mag gets good stuff to put on their cd/dvd to offer something more then other mags and we get great stuff for a great value, so everyone wins. But how does that work in terms of license and for my problem, giving it away to some people I know? If it would be the point of proofing someday that I own that ZebraCM legal, would I need to show my issue of the mag or the dvd to proof it?
I would like to share it with them, I didnt done it though. Neither I will upload it on any filehoster and spread it all over the net. If somebody here thinks I will do that, then I wouldnt have started this post. I just could have easily send that to them already, so I hope by posting this in the official u-he forum here on KVR, you can see that i mean well.
So, Urs, maybe you like to help me with that. Like I said I know it isnt a freeware-version but I am kinda stucked like I said.

well not really. having to say 'no i cant give you it' isnt being stuck.snowmusiq wrote: Like I said I know it isnt a freeware-version but I am kinda stucked like I said.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Did you ever made a tape or a cd for a friend with music that you owned but he didnt? Then you know what I mean with being stucked. I am not about sharing it to 20 people or anything close to that, in fact we talking about 2 guys with an interest for it and like I said no to them anyways, but this topic also intrests me in general.whyterabbyt wrote:well not really. having to say 'no i cant give you it' isnt being stuck.snowmusiq wrote: Like I said I know it isnt a freeware-version but I am kinda stucked like I said.

Computer Music Magazine UK is the only entity having the rights to distribute ZebraCM. I'm the wrong person to ask, really.
Urs
P.S.: Nope, they're not paying any fees for that. But I'm happy that every now and then one ZebraCM user gets converted to a user of the full version.

I see. Intresting you aint getting any fees for that, I really expected that, really small amout but at least a little something. Its intresting because CM would be the one that would check for illegal using of this synth which kinda seems weird to me.Urs wrote:Computer Music Magazine UK is the only entity having the rights to distribute ZebraCM. Well I will keep my way then and recommend them to get an issue.

There's always the option to download the Zebra2 demo and use it for about 10 minutes at a time. It's fully functional and even allows saving of presets. The notes just start to "wander" somewhere after 10 mins.
It's an incredibly relaxed demo process compared to some other programs.

this is a very cleaver scam!!
the demo lets you start a track, save the track & keep playing with the track,
its only a matter of time before you just have to pay Urs
all jokes aside

By speaking of it, I just spended the last 4hours just with ZebraCM and enjoying the sound, I might be one of those guys who will transform from CM to 2

All the presets you make in ZCM will load into Z2, so you won't lose anything if you upgrade.snowmusiq wrote:By speaking of it, I just spended the last 4hours just with ZebraCM and enjoying the sound, I might be one of those guys who will transform from CM to 2

One thing I've noticed in Zebra CM is that it has a very nice built in reverb. Or is it just me?
And can somebody give me an idea as to what expect from the full Zebra? I mean what is in the full version that is not in the CMversion?
I only use free synths for the moment because I'm only doing this for fun and have to put my money on more "serious" things that i have to do. But I'm sure that is going to change and Zebra would be at the very top of my list.
Cheers.
P.S. I don't mean using synths isn't serious. Its just that i have other project to take care of first.

In short, quite a lot is in Z2 that's not in ZCM. A Ton of modulators, more oscillators, custom oscillator waves, FM oscillators, comb filters, the XMF filter, and more.D.Wako wrote:And can somebody give me an idea as to what expect from the full Zebra? Really, just download the demo and try it for yourself. It doesn't expire or nag you to register and as I said before it's fully functional for about 10 minutes at a time, then you have to reload it.
Just download from here: http://zebrasynth.com/index.php?item=downloads

Also, when you purchase Zebra you'll get that reverb you like (from ZebraCM) as a bonus effects plug-in...
