Is this message familiar to anyone when attempting to open the Receptor remote viewer? The process number changes for me, but it is always error code 4. I have been able to connect to the hard drive, but I get this message when trying to open the viwer. This had happened in the past. It seemed to be resolved after making sure that I was in crossover mode with the correct cable (going straight into a laptop), and restarting both the unit and laptop. I am not having luck now. Any thoughts?

I had the same problem. I named my Receptor "John'sReceptor", and apparently, the apostrophe in the name was causing some type of conflict with my laptop. I renamed my Receptor using just letters and now I can access the hard drive no problem! I don't know if this is the only cause of the error code 4, but it was mine.
Also, on page 159 of the Receptor Manual are some suggestions on how to force your computer to find Receptor's hard drive. I used these to eventually discover my problem.
Good luck.
John

Why would you use UltraVNC instead of the Muse Viewer?

UltraVNC got rid of the "Failed to kill process 712 error code 4" error when I tried to connect.PhilMuller wrote:Why would you use UltraVNC instead of the Muse Viewer?
Also I am using a Netbook with 1024x600 resolution, UltraVNC allows you to scale the screen smaller for lower resolutions. That way I can see the whole screen without scrolling up and down.
