It's like my grand pappy always used to say to me, "Bill... hey Bill... BILL DAMMIT LISTEN! If Polybius does something, and then does it a second time, it's only gonna get better. And all he needs is two OSCs and an XMF most of the time, what the heck are all those other modules for, who needs 'em?" Then he would say "And remember that your memory isn't that great, so don't go around telling everyone things I didn't actually say."

Hehe, true, i have a bit of an XMF/saw combo fetish. And I also have a little volume consistency problembillstei wrote:It's like my grand pappy always used to say to me, "Bill... hey Bill... BTW, here's the video that inspired me to do the "retro ambient atmos" patch:
It's the first one you hear in the demo song.

That video has a very high coolness factor. Here's a little variant/experiment to see if two XMFs are better than one:Polybius wrote:Hehe, true, i have a bit of an XMF/saw combo fetish. Nice! That sure adds punch to it, and a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick or two. But on the downside, it seems to take away some of the resonance character of the original, or do me ears deceive me?billstei wrote:That video has a very high coolness factor. P.S. URS, thanks again for the "special token of appreciation" you've sent me. I'm getting a lot of love out of these!

That's the trouble with letting Chuck turn the knobs, he doesn't appreciate resonance, and usually ends up breaking the monitor. I said "Chuck, don't turn up the volume on Chain2." but he says "Either let me hear the ticky noise or I'll kick something valuable." I said "Chuck, dude, most of my stuff is from garage sales and ebay, except for Zebra." And he's like "Then I'll kick your Zebra right in the striped nads." So I just let him do the tweaking sometimes, it has a calming effect.Polybius wrote:Nice! That sure adds punch to it, and a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick or two.
