Forgive me for this (seemingly) ignorant question.
But what are these for and how do i use them or set them up within ZEBRA etc...
Sorry for asking a daft question, but its not clear to me at the moment.
Thanks

You can put your favourite 128 presets in the MIDI Programs folder. Next time you start Zebra (or whatever other u-he plugin that supports this), you can switch between these presets with MIDI Program Changes. That's ideal for live situations or when you need a whole bunch of sounds within a song, but not at the same time.

I must be doing something wrong, but I can't get this to work in Live 8.04. I can select MIDI programs using the selector knob on my external keyboard, but I can't get Live clips to change programs, which is what I want to do. Occasionally something I do will accidentally get Zebra to switch to Program 002 (seemingly the ONLY one it can recognize), but I can't always reproduce that and I can't select any other programs in the bank. Any ideas?

Can you set a MIDI program per-clip in Live in the 'notes' dialog in the clip view? If this works, then it's something with the program changes the synth is sending I'd imagine.pbajzek wrote:I can't get Live clips to change programs, which is what I want to do.
Recording MIDI program changes to a clip in Live is a little trickier than just monitoring w/ that track, record has to be set, it's worth setting up some MIDI channels and focusing on tweaking that behavior to get a handle on how Live does that.

Yes, I'm setting the program changes within clips. I do it all the time with other plugins, but it's not working with Zebra.xh3rv wrote: Can you set a MIDI program per-clip in Live in the 'notes' dialog in the clip view? I'm not a Live expert, so it would be great if you could send me a simple project that should set MIDI Programs to urs@u-he.compbajzek wrote:Yes, I'm setting the program changes within clips. Actually, I've narrowed down the problem, Urs: It seems Zebra requires a continuous list of MIDI Programs (i.e., no gaps in the numbering). So Live will let me switch between programs 1-5 just fine, but then I have a gap in my numbers and the next one is 33. All the higher numbers are inaccessible.
I wanted to sort my programs by type and leave open slots to fill them in as I create new patches, so 1-31 would be pads, 33-65 basses, etc. But it seems I will have to either change my scheme or make "dummy" programs.
