Urs, you're too smart for me dude.
Either that or i'm dumb

I'm trying to sync the UHBIK-F to cycle over one bar (ie 1/1).

The manual says this:
"If Quarters is selected as the Time Unit, a Times value of e.g. 16 means that the LFO wave has precisely the same length as 16 quarters. So in this case, the higher the value of Times, the slower the LFO.
Times multiplies the Time Unit choosen, so you can i.e. set the lfo cycle length between 1 and 99 quarter notes visual feedback for left and right If 1/x is selected, 16 Times means that the LFO cycle lasts for a 16th (semiquaver). In this case, the higher the value of Times, the faster the LFO."

Does this mean the Time Units value at the top should show 4 for a 1/4 loop. (ie 4 quarters)??

"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

EDIT: Or, duh, I could just try it!!!!
As I said above, maybe i'm just dumb :hihi:

Yes, 4 x 1/4 is 4 quarters, which is also 4/4 which is also 1/1.

(I'm sure it only sounds more complicated than it actually is...)

Yes quite right... Was very very tired last night...
Too much time fiddling with the UHBIK pack.
Have *wasted* hours in the last week just playing around with it, rather than using it constructively...

BTW, I dont mean "wasted" - you know what I mean 8)

LOL. The last two nights have been exactly the same.
I'm already very tired this week, so both nights I thought "ok get home from work, put down my lead line in an hour then to bed..."
But both nights i've been up to 2am because of this damn UHBIK.
Meaning:
a) even more tired than I was before, and
b) still no lead line.

:x :D

Huh? Looks like bits of Urs' original draft haven't been replaced with proper (;)) English! It should say this:
Modulation speed is controlled by a combination of the Time Unit and Times parameters. The speed is continuously adjustable over a wide range using the Times knob, but depending on the selected base in Time Unit, it is either as a time value (seconds or Hertz), a value related to the current song tempo (as quarters or finer divisions), or a manually adjusted position.

If Quarters is selected as the Time Unit, a Times value of e.g. 16 means that the LFO wave has precisely the same length as 16 quarters. So in this case, the higher the value of Times, the slower the LFO.

If 1/x is selected, 16 Times means that the LFO cycle lasts for a 16th (semiquaver). In this case, the higher the value of Times, the faster the LFO. Similarly, if Seconds is selected, 16 Times means 16 seconds, and if Hertz is selected, it means 16 cycles per second. In general, Quarters and Seconds are more suitable for slow modulation, whereas 1/x and Hertz are more suitable for rapid modulation.

The Manual option gives you precise control of modulation via e.g. parameter automation in your sequencer, providing highly sophisticated and lively effects otherwise impossible - or at least very difficult - using conventional plugins. In this mode, the LFO is effectively frozen unless you move the Phase (see below), which scans through the LFO wave manually (or via parameter automation!). The Times value here determines how many LFO cycles are included in the range of the Phase knob. An example: Times is set to 4. If you move the Phase from 0 to maximum, you will have scanned through 4 complete LFO cycles.

Thanks heaps Howard.

I did wonder last night whether you were the Howard as shown on the manual.
Clearly you are ;)

Howie,

The manual is alright, it's proper English. I don't see the quoted text (apart from the first sentence being one of the captions)

I havn't swapped the captions though. Will do that at some point. Maybe.
