last night I had to create a drum track for an otherwise complete song. I found a slightly new way for me to do that in MDrummer and wanted to share it here:
1. choose base rythm and switch of all random
2. create one MIDI item for the whole song
3. open MIDI editor of sequencer for note creation and let song play
4. in "realtime" create intro/beat/breaks/outro while the song plays
5. listen again and refine which breaks/beats and exactly when by shifting the notes arround
The result ist a great drum track in just five minutes.
I once had GrooveAgent. Such a work took hours (with automation lanes). And finally never wanted to sound exactly like it should!
If only the track number a particular drum will send audio to the host would not change to these odd defaults if one changes the drumkit!
