Percussion question

I need some african style drums. So I set up MDrummer with a drum kit and a base rhythm from world/african and that sounds cool.
Now I found more instruments like Djembe and merged them to the drum kit. I am able to play the Djembe through MIDI on channel 10, so audio routing is all fine.
However I cannot manage to include some Djembe playing from MDrummer's own rhythm abilities... How can I get that, preferably also in african style?
(I once was able to do a similar thing with some tambourine, because I found a proper rhythm for it within the grooves you included...)

You need to run some djembe rhythm too. Problem is, that it would be too "nonversatile" to create a rhythm specially for djembe drum-type. So djembe is like conga. So you need to do this:
1) Get a separate MDrummer instance and load djembe or merge it to existing drumset.
2) Load some rhythm from the percussion folder.
3) Play it
You could also merge the percussion rhythm, but that's kind of hardcore IMHO

Ah... I see. That added Djembe did also create a channel in the mixer which is named Conga. Its a kind of mapping on your side to make stuff consistent (maybe also to GM drum mapping).
Anyway: got it to work finally it its really cool to listen, what that virtual Djembe player added to the base rhythm. Way cool...

Well, thanks
. I'm glad you did it!
Hopefully there will be more multisampled percussion soon.

Sure, that would be cool. Just keep the very high standard like the samples you already have! I find them to be very "mixable". I mean they are dry and honest enough to be tweaked for any mix.MeldaProduction wrote:Well, thanks. I'm glad you did it!

MDrummer is the first drum VSTi for me which is convincing even in swingy jazz with brushes...
