Hi

After reading a couple of comments on my "MUTOOLS Forum Members - who are you?" topic.

I was wondering if we had any preset designer/sound engineer forum members out there.

It would be nice if both Synthia and MuSynth had a few more factory presets getting them both up to 128/256 factory presets each.

I for one am rubbish at creating original sounding presets in VSTi or similar and tend to modify factory presets.

Preset design is a skill and unfortunately not one of mine.

I was wondering how we could swell the numbers of presets to help Jo out.

Even if you are also rubbish at creating original sounding presets like me, do any of you have ideas on how we can get more presets at least in Synthia if not both.

You know... usually people focus on their VSTs that thay carry around from a DAW to another and it is risky to invest time in a Built in module because then if you move on you lose everything unless that DAW can be used as VST as with energyXt.
And still even in energyXT there is only a huge zip file with a lot of sounds, but again only from one person.
Maybe there is more but I am not aware since I am focusing more on MuLab.

I used to get around this problem when I really had something precious exporting it and load it then in my NN-XT but is almost useless unless is a touch of spice in the song.

I am sure that given enough time for exposure, MuLab built in instrument will eventually give a serious challenge to most of the semi-Top VST out there.

Mulab's built in synths sound great, but they are consomming too much CPU, so I have never taken the time to create new presets for them...

hi is there a demo of the synths?

This is also something I noticed when I first looked at MU.LAB there were not many factory presets for either of these synths. How many times have good freeware synths been passed over due to lack of factory presets showcasing them.

I would never call myself a sound engineer or preset designer but I thought I would give it a stab myself. I have created 30 synthia and 20 musynth presets and Emailed them off to Jo. I have left it in the hands of Jo to decide if he wishes to include any of them or not. If nothing else I have enjoyed getting to know these two synths and for me that was time well spent.

Some new users of DAWs may not have much money for other commercial synths, but with MU.LAB you get two nice sounding synths to play with.

If like me you are eagerly awaiting M3 and have some time to spare why not create a few presets for Jo and Email them to him. If Jo includes any of them you may get a buzz seeing your creations in MU.LAB for the rest of the world to see, fame at last.

I agree it would be super if there would be tons of patches for the MuSynth and the MUX.

In M3, the patch library system has been improved and hopefully this will also stimulate patch creation.
