EDIT: added all videos to YouTube:

Hi all, i could use some feedback on a little video demo i made for the Oldskool Soundset. Say what ever pops in your mind..

In short its just me browsing 1 sound from each category in the Oldskool Soundset.

What i like is that you can see which keys i'm playing and also the cpu performance meter. I had a terrible delay on the keys because i had to shoot the video in DX mode so dont expect fancy keyboard dancing ;)

This is great! I love showing your chords and progressions as well as using the XYs on specific presets. I'm definitely going to study this more.

As always you're generosity is appreciated :D

How many Pad sounds does the bank have? I am looking for expressive/complex pads like absynth has...but without absynth :d

ex: "Sweet Girl" preset in absynth 4 <3

also, some classic trance/electro leads?

Hmm Oldskool got lots of pads, but it is not a trance/electro soundset.
I think its pretty safe to say that Oldskool have many complex pads. Some are located in the ambient section while others are located in pads category.

Sounds great.

Do you have any plans for an Oldskool + Afterskool bundle?

How about a new "Summer School" soundset to go with it? :D

There might pop one more skool soundset someday but we are looking at 3 to 6 months in the future. I guess there could be a bundle thing along with that release.

But what about this video i made... 425 views and one comment, is it boring ?
Would you rather have me go thru only a few select preset and then present them in a more detailed fashion ?

The video is very nice... much better than listening to an MP3 file. Liked it so much that I bought the soundsets. :)

It is great to see how easy it is to tweak the sounds in performance view. I think it is good to show such a large variety of sounds, it will appeal to more people that way.

Just simply one of the best purchases ive made. Zebra is encapsulated perfectly by this set.

The video is a great idea and it really shows off the variety and quality of the patches.

If you want some constructive criticism - it might be more visually appealing without the clutter of Cubase in the background. Just the Zebra UI and some kind of a keyboard visualization, if that's possible.

Is there a link to a streamed version somewhere? I've only just got around to watching it and that's partly because it's an 18 MB download and my wireless connection is a bit flakey atm.

Hmm i'll try upload it to youtube but i doubt you will be able to see anything after its been thru the youtube compression format.

The current version is 18 MB for 8 mins which i consider a very good trade of compared to the quality of the video. The original size is 4.5 Giga in AVI format. Most mp3 soundset demos today would take the same 18 mb but without the visuals.

I feel the clutter with Cubase in the background gives the video an authentic feel. Here we have a softsynth used in a host, nothing fancy about that, infact it could be just about any Cubase-Zebra user having fun going thru some presets.

Consider this when watching a super pro video for X synth, i always get the feeling they are not telling me everything ;) Like ohhhh nice sound but how about the CPU use or this one.. ah we forgot to tell you we used super duper finalizer on the product etc...

Somehow i get the feeling that people expect that what is presented to them are infact a heavely edited product made to look very good and sound terrific. I am certainly in that category of people who dont believe a thing until i hold the damn thing in my hands ;)

So this video is presented in its most true form simply because this is the way i like to experience a synth for the first time. No magic clips no hidden agenda, just plain what you see/hear is what you get.

What you propose would be an idea for a video for people who already got Zebra and want to learn some tricks.

I think just having an mp3 sound only clip is better for this.
The only reason for a video would be to do a tutorial.

Sure soundclips are the first thing people reach for, i would do the same since it delivers the very first impression. My next step thou would be to check out just how efficient the CPU use is compared to complexity. I'm absolutely fanatic about CPU usage.

How about Vimeo rather than Youtube? It seems better suited to high quality video and music.

Fair point (my comment was only meant as a suggestion, not an out-and-criticism, and I hope you didn't take it the wrong way - after all you did ask for feedback  ).
