This took over an hour, and I'm still not 100% happy with it, but for now I'm satisfied. It's a mockup of the famous JD660-based synth lead from Prodigy's song "Voodoo People." Adam Baker did a soundset for Sylenth1 with this sound and managed to pull it off with fewer modules than I did (at least, I'm guessing, as Sylenth1 has fewer modules in general) but, until Zebra gets REALLY mean distortion, a chain of filters + shapers will have to do

Let me know what you think! It's velocity-controlled, so the low velocities have less feedback/reso. You could probably sequence the original hook more accurately than I did.

Very close indeed. 100% modeling isn't that big a deal to me as long as the spirit of the sound is captured which I think you've done here.

Thanks folks! I know I've been busy... over the last three months I have;

* Released a full sample library via Impact Soundworks (see sig)
* Graduated from college
* Moved into a new apartment with my then-fiance, now wife
* Gotten married

So, not too much time for synthesis! But now that everything is settled down, I'm back to work and hoping to have a new set in the next few weeks.

Haha, thanks Urs!

Here's another Prodigy one. No external fx, of course. It's very hard to get this sound down because I'm 99% sure the original synth (in Smack My Bitch Up) used both onboard AND external fx... so it's next to impossible to figure out what the settings were. I basically just faked it, so it doesn't quite sound the same, but I think it's another cool aggressive patch nonetheless.
