FilterscapeVA in Presonus Studio One Pro Demo

I create a new song, which is a new project in Studio One Pro Demo, and FilterscapeVA preset, the sequence is just silence... the sound returns when loading a new preset (or the same preset) or inserting and playing another instance of the filterscapeVA Audio Unit instrument with my controller. But, if I stop, and play again, there's silence once again...

I deleted MacOSX: Users/Library/Application Support/u-he/com.u-he.FilterscapeVA.midimap.txt , rebooted and started the host, Presonus "Studio One Pro Demo" to check it out. Still silence when I stop and play. Then, I re-registered FilterscapeVA. Still silence occurs. :help:

Hmmm... did you quit the host before deleting that file?

Otherwise, can you

- open a patch and play while it plays
- save the patch as e.g. "FSVA plays"
- start/stop host so that it doesn't play anymore
- save the patch as e.g. "FSVA silent"

and send the patches to anybody@u-he.com

Cheers,

;) Urs

Yes, I did quit the host before deleting that file and I also tried deleting com.u-he.Filterscape.midimap.txt by quitting the host before deleting that file and rebooted and started the host. I can start/stop host so that it doesn't play anymore and save the patch as e.g. "FSVA silent" The FilterscapeVA is silent now the majority of the time. I am not sure when I will be able to open a patch and play while it plays, then, save the patch as e.g. "FSVA plays", FilterscapeVA has a mind of its own now. It plays intermittently.

Also I tried, bouncing 4 bars realtime so I could use the sound in my sampler which end up playback silence also, but show a size for the file in the Get Info.

Then maybe just open any patch from the factory library, save it right after you verified that it's silent and send it...

Really weird stuff, indeed...

Must be a Mac thing - it's playing fine for me in the demo and I can record a sequence and play it back.

The Demo will allow me to try Studio One Pro for a period of 30 days, after which the software will require purchase and activation to continue running. I am not be able to save documents or export audio in the Demo version. So this explains why bouncing 4 bars end up playing back silence also at all. I am not able to save the preset correctly with the Demo. Otherwise, I can explore all of the features Studio One Pro has to offer.

Well, you can still press the save-button in FilterscapeVA's gui on the top left to save a FSVA patch... 8)

Are you trying the Audio Unit and the VSTi FilterscapeVA in Studio One Demo for Mac OS X?

Will the saved FSVA patch from the Audio Unit and VSTi FilterscapeVA load correctly into the Audio Unit and VSTi FilterscapeVA or will the FSVA patch load into just the Audio Unit or VSTi FilterscapeVA instrument it was saved with any sequencer or daw?

I am confused, how do I save an FSVA patch? If the .aupreset is for the Audio Unit and the .fxp is for the VSTi, my preset would be for the Audio Unit. If I can not bounce this sound out and the .aupreset is silence, how do I load the .aupreset as a .fxp if it's playing fine for you as a VSTi in the demo and you can record a sequence and play it back?

It works on my MacBookPro4,1 Core 2 Duo, 2.6 GHz, but not my Early 2008 Mac Pro3,1 Xeon, 3.2 GHz 8 Core.

I'm running OS X 10.5.8 with the full version of Studio One installed. FilterscapeVA seems to be working as normal.

Unless I've misread your posts ... I can insert the VST or AU version, select presets, play notes using the QWERTY keyboard, start and stop the transport multiple times, export a mix-down or individual tracks, save the project and re-load the project. At all times the output from Filterscape VA is audible and sounds as you would expect.

Peace,
Andy.

Andy,

What computer system(s) mac hardware are you running OS X 10.5.8 with the full version of Studio One Pro installed and the VST or AU version of FilterscapeVA successfully on?

aMUSEd,

I made my correction and directed this reply to Urs, but thank you anyway for your input.
