I'm trying to recreate the sound found in the intro below. I believe it's an analoge synth of some sort, the sound is fairly simple. I just can't seem to nail it.
My poor attempt: http://www.box.net/shared/2ys1d8fnep
I've also tried stacking multiple OCS modules and detuning them with different LFOs, but I think the problem is with the filter and its envelope. So sound design gurus here, what am I missing? (besides - "it's an analog, you'll never get that sound", don't want to start that debate)
Also, I believe he uses the same patch throughout the tune, just tweaking the filters, VCA envelope and such, so that might assist in trying to identify the intro sound.

Yes, you're right, sorry, I should have been more descriptive. There is a softer organ/flute-like sound doubling the lead. I'm not talking about that one. I mean the louder one with the short decay. I think it's just pulse waves with a filter envelope. I just can't find the correct filter settings.Howard wrote:Tip: It's actually two sounds.
