Hi,
I'm using Cubase 64 5.1.1 on Vista 64 and ACE doesn't appear in my list of VST instruments. I can see it and use it in Kore 2 standalone, but there's nothing there in Cubase. Also, if I open Kore VST in Cubase and then open ACE in Kore, Cubase freezes and crashes.
Anyone else having issues with ACE and Cubase 64 5.1.1?

A 64 bit host needs 64 bit plugs, it wont see 32 bit plugs. I take it that ACE is 32 bit.

Some hosts work better than others with this. You will either need a bridge or 64 bit plugs. jbridge is the one to watch :BR393 wrote:Actually you can use 32-bit plugs in a 64-bit host, and I currently do. They get stored in the Programs Files(x86) directory with all the other 32-bit programs.

I just installed ACE on Windows 7 x64, along with Cubase x64 - the 32-bit version of Cubase was already installed.
In Cubase 32 everything is working great - both ACE and Zebra 2 are visible and work as expected.
In Cubase 64 both Zebra 2 and Zebralette show up in the instrument list, but ACE does not even though it is installed to the same folder - very strange.
ACE does work in the 64 bit version of Sonar.
Peace,
Andy.

Its a well known limitation of Cubase 64 bit. Theres more on the problem and using jbridge to solve it here :

The easy way round it is to use Cubase 32 bit for now.

What are you talking about? I just ran some tests and reported my findings.UltraJv wrote:Its a well known limitation of Cubase 64 bit. Theres more on jbridge here :

All of the 32-bit plug-ins installed, including Alchemy and other U-he plug-ins, are visible in Cubase 5 x64 except ACE. I will repeat: that is strange.
Peace,
Andy.

Its only strange if you dont know about the issue. The link I posted shows that many people have trouble with Cubase 64 bit not working with 32 bit plugs. Thats why UMD made jbridge. A quote from that thread "Cubase current VST bridge sucks" - No point in shooting the messenger.ZenPunkHippy wrote:What are you talking about? Yes, I am aware of that but you would expect several plug-ins from the same developer to work given that they will share, to a certain extend the same code base. That is why I call it strangeUltraJv wrote:Its only strange if you dont know about the issue. The link I posted shows that many people have trouble with Cubase 64 bit not working with 32 bit plugs. You may have a point but it may be too much to ask URS fix something that aint broke, you could equally pass this to Steinberg and ask them to fix the bridgeZenPunkHippy wrote:Yes, I am aware of that but you would expect several plug-ins from the same developer to work given that they will share, to a certain extend the same code base. Steinberg say "We cannot guarantee that every plugin works with the VST Bridge"

Well, I tried out jBridge and I was able to get ACE working in Cubase 5 64-bit, but the GUI response though jBridge was pretty choppy and annoying. I hadn't even installed the 32-bit version of Cubase 5 yet, so I gave that a try and it seems everything works fine in it. So, I guess I'll be sticking with Cubase 5 32-bit for a while. ACE isn't the only plugin I've had problems with in the 64-bit version. Still too soon to go 64-bit all the way I guess.

I'll be working on 64 bit quite a bit as I'm finally upgrading my system after the current round of updates
