Tracks and midi channel

I have seen that all midi input coming to a track will be forced to the channel set for this track : there is not the option to receive on all channels. I have problems with this because I have in a rack a midi tool in the first slot, and a synth in the second slot. The midi tool have a midi thru so there is no problem to reach the synth, but I want to send program change to the midi tool and other program change to the synth, but if I set the midi tool and the synth to the same channel (the track channel), they change patch together. Maybe I can use a mux and the ndcMidi tools to make it work.
And maybe a bug :
You can choose a midi channel for a track (rigth click on a track, choose
midi channel) : I don't know why but you have to select another track and
reselect the track to get it work.

How it will be in M3 is a separate, still open topic.
So in MU.LAB 2.7:
Yes do use a MUX.
MU.LAB also features a MIDI Channel Splitter that you can use to reach your goal

In most hosts, a track can receive and record midi data from many channels.
So you can send program changes on different channels to reach different plugins in the same rack... Maybe can we have a midi channel/events filter per track in M3 ?

I understand the essence of your request, but won't answer in detail yet.
Track/part targets and the use of MIDI channels is all very related to eachother and this still is an open topic in M3.
Lets first concentrate on reasonably stabelizing M3. Then we'll have more comfortable time to talk about some conceptual things like this.
If it's about making music today: please think MU.LAB 2.7.
In MU.LAB 2.7 you can do per-channel processing by using a MUX with a MIDI Channel Splitter inside

This specific issue should be resolved in M3.pquenin wrote:And maybe a bug :
