Is it possible to get a copy of the Zebra manual that can be accessed from a local harddrive. I am encountering scenarios where I cannot access the internet. Since I don't know everything about Zebra, I need to look things up. The online manual is unreadable from my Blackberry.

I am not asking for a .pdf. Some people just don't like Acrobat. I can deal with the HTML version as long as I can get to it locally.

I did find some links at the bottom of the main manual page, but the documents appear to be for older versions. I could be wrong about this though?

This is not a complaint. I love Zebra and think u-he is a top-notch developer. Just trying to make my own personal scenario easier to deal with.

You could just use Foxit Reader to read it. It's very light compared to acrobat.

You can also copy the pages into ms word.

I am sorry, I failed to be clear. I don't mind a .pdf at all. I am an Adobe certified developer and use Acrobat religiously.

Other developers, on the other hand, despise Adobe (as there are some that despise Microsoft). My comment was intended to convey that I would accept a manual I could run from my local hard drive in whatever format I could get, .pdf, .html. .doc. Beggars can't be choosers

As I stated earlier, I did find the .pdf, but I think it is for 2.0 and not 2.5. However, it has been more then adequate up to this point.

I meant no offense

Howdy Ric,

Unfortunately one of the very few areas Zebra is lacking is in documentation. There currently is no 2.5 manual.

Urs is currently on holiday in Australia with limited internet access. The good news is he has stated he's going to use this vacation time to beef up the manual for Z2.

Also, I don't know if you're interested in video tutorials. If you do like videos, the OC Remixer (and all around nice guy) zircon made 4 starter videos for Z2. In the videos he covers the 2.5 interface and quite a few features added that aren't in the current documentation.

Hmmm..... Well, if help is needed to help with documentation. I could donate a few hours to help out. I do a lot of publishing, mostly in InDesign. Anyhow, if I can help, I can be PM'd or e-mailed through this board.

The PDF manual is a great start but certainly (like everything) could use a little upgrading. I started a new version in FrameMaker 9 based on the PDF version, the web page version, and my own experiments with my own copy of Zebra 2.5 and am up to 52 pages.
I am only using the free demo version of Frame which will expire in 18 or 19 days so whatever I get done by then will probably be the end of my version. Unless I can export it as an XML document or something.
