anyone know how to get an edirol pcr 800 to work with my muse receptor in usb mode? i had to install some drivers to get it to work with my mac so imagine it involves installing a driver on the receptor. thanks.

Why do you want to install that on your Receptor? Actually, I don't really you can do that, but I might be wrong...

My PCR A30 does not work in USB mode, because it is not "USB class compliant". If it were class compliant, it would work without drivers.

It does work with a MIDI cable, but that also means that I need to power the PCR A30 with the AC/DC adapter (wall wart), because the PCR A30 power switch also selects the data transfer method. In other words: setting power to USB also means USB data transfer, and setting power the other way means wall wart power and MIDI cable data transfer. It might be possible to hack the switch so I could power the keyboard from USB while using the MIDI cable, then I wouldn't need the wall wart.

I use a pcr 800 with the receptor. I could not find a way to make it work with only usb. You need to use a midi cable. You can power the pcr via usb from the receptor, but that is it. Also, the default configuration on my pcr 800 had the midi port off.

Hi again Jason,

Sorry about my first message. I did not realise the PCR 800 was a keyboard. I thought it was a soundcard... I have no idea if this will work on the Receptor with the USB connection only, but I have an M-Audio Axiom 61 keyboard and it works perfectly with a single USB cable. You just have to be careful to plug it in before switching the Receptor on, otherwise it is sometimes not recognised. Apart from that, it is just perfect.

I wonder if the new Axiom Pro versions also work like that... that would be great. I heard the they improved the keyboard action, which is not really good on the original Axiom series, I must say.

Hope this will help
