Hey folks,

so another update for all effects is here. Now they are fully mono and surround compatible. All modulators now provide unique adjustable protection for maximum audio quality and also an envelope follower for effects like auto-wah.

The update is available via update manager, udpate installer and newest installer for Windows users. Mac OS users have to use the newest installer.

Check http://www.meldaproduction.com for more information.

Cheers!

Hi Vojtech, i'm really enjoying seeing these updates, especially the envelope follower and preset morphing, but i'd just like to report a little bug that's just happened with the latest Mmultidynamics update (2.05).

I'm using FL Studio, and when i insert multidynamics, the cpu is at 7%, with 4 bands active, which is the same as the 2.04 version. But as soon as i open the multidynamics gui, the cpu shoots up to 24%! Then, even when i close the gui again, the cpu stays at 24%. The only way to get the cpu back to 7%, is to save the song and reopen it (or reinsert multidynamics). Switching the plugin off/on doesn't bring it back down either. The song has to be reopened.

Well i've just uninstalled 2.05, and reinstalled 2.04, and the cpu is back to how it was. 7%. Doing this test, i've noticed that the 2.04 does go up from 7% to 10%, but that's something i never noticed before. But the new update has done something to send my cpu up to 24%. So is there maybe a bug in the code or something? Sadly, i'll have to stick with 2.04 for the moment, unless this is something fixable.

This doesn't happen in Sonar btw. Just FL Studio, but something has definitely changed in multidynamics. (No other Melda plugins i use have this weird behaviour).

Hi AL,

well, there is one thing - when processing all 8 channels, then the CPU consumption is much higher of course. This doesn't happen in modern hosts, which can report number of used channels (such as Cubase). Anyway that's why there is the switch in menu, which enables surround processing. It seems it works well in most cases, but in FL Studio I'll check.

Cheers!

One more thing - where do you check for the CPU consumption? The thing is, there are 2 parts - GUI and processing. Usually VST meters show CPU hit of processing, which is what's important. GUI is for drawing and stuff like that and basically the idea is, that the processing has much higher priority, so even when the task manager shows 100%, you may have still some power left (used by GUI, but that power ay be used rather for the processing when needed).

(I'm just saying that, because you may got conused by the task manager meter, or even the FL studio meter, from what imageline has done in their products, I wouldn't be surprised if this wouldn't be done correctly)

Anyway, I'll check.

I'm using the cpu monitor in FL, but both FL and Sonar show the cpu to average around 7%, so i don't think FL is any less accurate than Sonar.

Here's how i'm sure the new version is causing a cpu increase:
The track i'm working on at the moment is pretty complex, and with 2.04 installed, i can open the gui, make adjustments, and carry on with no problems.
But after installing 2.05, when i open the gui, the cpu meter goes into the red, the track starts stuttering and jumping, and finally the sound disappears. The only way i can get the song to play, is to reload the whole project.

I checked the settings, and 'enable surround processing' is unticked. When i tick it, the cpu goes up from 24% to 34%. But as i say, it's only a problem after the gui has been opened, so not sure how it could be related to that.
Anyway, hopefully it's something you can figure out, as this is my go-to multiband at the moment.
Using FL Studio 9.0.3.

Thanks.

So I checked, and you are right! The metering system was processing all 8 channels, which, well, wasn't really necessary :D. So it will need a little fix, soon ;)

Ok Al, so here it is ;). I thought the update is too small, so the version is kept. So just please update again and it should be fine now.

Cheers!
