ok i'm slowly getting to grips with this amazing synth, and come to the automation side of things, so I am wondering, is it better to assign param's you want to automate to the XY controllers ? Or is that the only option, as in Cubase when I opened the automation options for Zebra there were millions lol and I didn't know which one referred to what.

In FL Studio, unfortunately their last tweaked parameter tool doesnt work with anything other than the XY.

I collab with people on both DAW's , although Cubase is my personal perference, but as a rule of thumb should I just stick to automation the XY controllers ?

Thanks.

Using the XYs is highly recommended from my side, but other people may think differently.

The good thing about using XYs IMHO is that they're non-destructive and thus reversible whereas with "real" automation an automated parameter is "lost". Once a parameter is automated you have to load the same preset in another instance to see what the original value was.

Regarding confusing parameter names, that's unfortunately true and owed to limitations in various plugin standards, and the transformation between those. However, the names in the parameter list are editable, see the file "com.u-he.Zebra2.publicparams.txt". Since V2.5 I've added another file that comes pre-equipped with shorter names which on the other hand include module identifiers, e.g. "VCF1:Fc" or so. If one replaces the original file by the other file (ends with ".xt.txt"), one might make more sense out of it.

Ah cheers Urs, much appreciated, but I think you are right, using the XY's is easier.

Turns out the parameter I was trying to automate cannot be automated anyway lol Well not in FL , didn't find it in Cubase. Was the Rate for LFO1.

But I assigned it to X and just automated that :) Problem solved.

Thanks again.
