mac questions...

Okay, I just a day or so ago installed the MDrummer small on my new mac pro. (I'd always been a windows user, and am just now trying to get set up and running in Logic.)
The installation appeared to run successfully, but I cannot find MDrummer within Logic. I expected to be able to find it in the AU Instruments field of the I/O pulldown menu in an instrument track. Here I find my spectrasonics and u-he plugins, but no sign of MDrummer small. Any ideas what might be going wrong?
Secondly, I now see the MDrummer Large should be available as well. Do I need to do something to uninstall the small version first, or should I be able to just do a simple new install for MDrummer Large?
Thanks for any help,

Hi there,
well, please check the AU manager (in Logic preferences). There should be MDrummer, you may need to validate it, who knows. If not, please check MDrummer.component is in /Library/Audio/Plugins/Components directory.
If you make it work and decide to go for MDrummer Large, you can just uninstall MDrummer Small using Applications/MeldaProduction/MDrummer Small/setup, or even install it over. But I suggest removing the small version first.
Btw. why on earth did you switch to Macs??? I know there are plenty of argues over this, but I guess I should finally publish my findings about the Mac OS X kernel (and not only that), which are at least disturbing... but that's for another debate.

I have checked and re-scanned the AU manager, and see no entry for mdrummer, and the/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components directory is empty.MeldaProduction wrote:Hi there,

I'm having a similar problem installing some Sugar Bytes plugins -- the install finishes normally, but I can never see entries in the AU manager. I have successfully installed other 3rd party plugs however (spectrasonics, u-he).
Any ideas?

UPDATE:
I seem to be having an issue with Logic 9.1.1. I loaded a Logic 9.0.2 session and the autoscan at startup correctly identified all five of the plugins I'd been unable to get 9.1.1 to recognize. Once recognized by 9.0.2, they now appear in 9.1.1. I don't understand it, but I'll take it.

Btw. could you try to rescan one of the failed ones with the 9.1.1 and send me the report to info@meldaproduction.com. I'd check what it doesn't like this time
.
