Somehow I don't see a Receptor app coming out any time soon.
And maybe you haven't noticed how Apple operates as a business, but if their history with the iPhone is any guide, they'll block VST support, saying it directly competes with their own AU standard.
But just how many plugins do you really think you can run on a glorified Etch-a-Scetch, anyways?

I got the Receptor GUI working on my iPhone using a VNC app to remote desktop into the interface of my Receptor. I'm sure there will be a VNC app for the iPad out shortly if it already isn't out.PhilAiken wrote:....I would run to the Apple store right now.

I'm looking for it to act as a touchscreen monitor and display the Receptor's GUI - not to act as a Receptor. Big difference....

Actually we tried using the VNC app on iPad this morning and you can indeed connect to Receptor's interface in the same manner you can with iphone. I thought it was still a bit buggy (I don't think the vnc app has been ported specifically for ipad yet), but it does work and you can operate all espects of Receptor's mixer and plugins.

To connect wirelessly, we'll need (or at least prefer) a USB pj=lug-in wireless networking connector which will run under Linux, and specifically under Receptor's version of Linux.Kevin@MuseResearch wrote:Actually we tried using the VNC app on iPad this morning and you can indeed connect to Receptor's interface in the same manner you can with iphone. I found http://www.linuxemporium.co.uk/products ... #pidR27009 this link which references a D-Link device, but it's not longer made and D-Link does not discuss Linux on the page. All the other posts I found are just asking, nobody says, "Here it is." Any ideas? This would be a great boon to Receptor users (and maybe Muse could badge some and sell them as add-ons...

Finding one that is USB compatible with the Receptor is probably a long shot.
However....any old ethernet connected wireless router seems to work just fine. I bought a smaller one from Netgear, set it up using a Windows laptop, and then just hooked it up to the Receptor.
I have the Receptor gui on my iPad as we speak. It is a little sluggish - possibly due to the VNC client (just called VNC)
and I wouldn't want to use it exclusively as my front end, but it works just fine and will allow me to make changes at gigs.
Nice.
Just need to secure the router inside my rack. Pretty psyched about this, actually - will set it up on my phone as well.

I have been using this and it is very cool. Did a session last week and used it to fine tune patches, and audition sounds that I don't have in multis. Then last night before a gig, in my main snapshot, I fixed and saved an annoying volume discrepancy between sounds that has been bugging me for a while, that I never seemed to get around to fixing. Also freaked my bandmates out by triggering samples from out in the auditorium after soundcheck.
I heartily endorse this if you have an iPad, or any phone that can Run a VNC app.
