Will there ever be a possibility to import your own multisamples in MDrummer by using MMultisampler and not MSampler???

To be honest, I really like the concept of MDrummer and I'd love to buy this, but the quality of the current library of acoustic drums is a showstopper for me, especially the snares are very "snary" , too much for me, the same as Reason Drum Kits 2

But without being able to create own multisamples in MDrummer with alterning samples, it's a major showstopper for me.

Second one is the internal delay plugin, which is too "mono" and produces often a flanging sound.

Do I something wrong???

Hi Trancit,

you really don't like the multisamples from MTotalDrums? I mean the original "Studio" drums are exactly as you said, but the new ones... that's something really different. 8) (actually several customers told me that the original studio sets are great, because they fit into mixes very well).

Btw. if you say "snary", it would definitely help to check eq of the snare drum. Usually there is increased range above 1kHz. If you lower it down, it would be less snary and more boomy.

There is a multisample generator we used, not released yet, because it's kind of a proprietary technology. Though I don't see a reason not to release it. But note that it's based on drum tracks - I mean if you record drums in studio, then it can automatically process the tracks, extract samples and generate multisamples (even from multiple mikes).

MDelay - it is definitely only mono in default settings. There are 2 taps, if you pan one to the right and the other to the left, it won't be amono anymore 8)

Dear Vojtech,

thx for quick reply.

A release of your multisample generator would be very nice. Not to be restricted to the factory content would be good in general...different people, different tastes :-). The MTotalDrums I have to demo again.

With the delay I will try a little bit more.

Thx so far

Hello again,

I had a listen to the mtotaldrums as well, but I must say it's the same problem there with the snares, especially at velocities below 120 there is a strong metallic vibration a little compressed it is like a fast small snare roll.

I've made a little comparison of how I think it should be with a snare of Superior Drummer 2, all without ambience.
If you give me an email adress, I can send it to you.

Ok, please send me (info@meldaproduction.com). BUT in the multisampler, you can literally disable the higher velocities. Just check the MMultiSampler's velocity curve. The highest layer is usually a strong rimshot, which always sounds metalic, because it's a hit into a metal :).
Usually it is configured, so that this layer does not present itself much in the rhythms.

No, it's the higher velocities, which sounds "smoother" for me :-)

It's the lower velocities, which have this metallic "drdrdrdr" for me, which sounds like a small fast snareroll.

I send you the mp3 file.

Got it, responded, and if it's lower velocities, no problem again - just try the velocity curve and use only higher layers ;).

Hi vojtech honestly i think the drum are very easy to mix whatever total drum or the default kit and have a very good punch but i agrre with other user different peopple differents taste. These drums are good for rock, metal reggae is not bad but it's too punchy for MY taste i use principaly mdrummer for jamming and about 30 minutes of the total drums my hear cry.
So i have imported my own drum kit and it's very good but i 'would be able to use layer and multisampling for mor realisticity :)(not only the slider:)
The kit that i love the more is the vintage rock kit from easy drummer but he has only 2 toms :( and it's proprietary format.
So a little more "soft drum" would be cool(especially for jamming) or ability to build our own kit with multisampling.
A friend of mine who is drummer whant to sample his own real drum kit and he's ok for sharing his sample with me but if i can import them with different layer...

Ok Simon,

so the same thing as I offered Trancit - I can provide the multisample generator (for private use), so you can check if you can build some nice drumsets. Basically the idea was to release it anyway, so people can do that. It's just not really documented yet and there are a few things one needs to know to use it properly. If you want, just write me an email.

Yes, and you will need MDrummer Large to use the generated multisamples... actually I'm not sure :), but with demo you wouldn't be able to save the drumsets anyway.

Waouw Thx Vojtech.
I go to my mailbox :)
I own Mdrummer large :D
I have bought it since v2 and follow the dev since the beginning ;)

Anyway you make a great support for Mdrummer thx!

A question:I have bought some sample bank for drums do you think i can share them with m drummer user if i made some kit without problem with copyright etc...
I don't think so but in the case :)

Post

My pleasure Simon, I'll send it when possible.

The sample banks - you mean you bought samples, create drumsets for MDrummer and want to share them, right? No problem ;).

Good to hear this i ' ll make a good kit with one i own (the bank is not famous and is not expensive but have really a great sound specially for the blues.
But didn't remember the name and i need to retrieve my dvd...
I was asking for copyright because i was thinking that i can use the sample in my composition and sell them but not redistribute but apparently i have wrong?

It should be obvious that you can't use samples you have bought other than for your own music (that's the common situation, unless you have asked permission for it). You are not the owner of the samples, they are licensed to you.

Post

Thx sonicpowa for the info (it's what i have read when i have bought them).
Anyway i plan to sample a real drumkit so i 'll not have problem with the law:)
The kit 'll not have a big studio recording and very expensive mics but i am pretty sure i can produce a good drumset. And indeed different of the tenors like EZdrummer BF etc...

Post

Exactly!
Sorry for confusion, I thought the samples you bought are somehow legalized for sharing. With MDrummer drumsets there is no problem.

And about your drum recording - don't forget to show me results ;).
